Fullscreen mode stopped working
May 24th, 2015, 21:46
For no obvious reason - the game starts minimized and immediately becomes minim ized when I try to maximize it. I can fiddle the user.ini file to make it stats as 'borderless window' but things gives a performance hit..and it was working fine earlier. WTF? Anyone had something similar and how do you fix it (besides the non-fix/compromsie of settling for borderless window on?)

@booboo - Difficult to know what to do - have you tried optimising with Geforce experience (if you have a nvidia card) and verifying your game files. Otherwise perhaps a painful 22gb odd reinstall perhaps.
I had a few problems, before patch 1.03 such as CTDs and other oddities, but since the patch haven't had a single game breaking issue (fingers crossed).

I've seen some people claim that Geforce experience optimization cause crashes. I wouldn't touch it personally.
Although, checking the fullscreen mode would be a good idea, the game is not set at fullscreen by default (despite looking like it).

Thanks for the suggestions…it turns out that logging out/in again solved it for me - go figure ;-) I did some googling and saw a few people with similar issue, but some pretty drastic solutions or simply "play with borderless window".
@Azarhal - actually I do have GeForce experience optimization turned on…seems to have selected all the setting I had anyway? I'll see if things go pear-shaped again and try and disable it if so (if I can!)

For my setup, geforce underestimates the power available (my system has some overclocking) so I have some spare FPS to allocate to stuff like ultra textures (a big improvement to close up textures), without dropping below 60FPS. Can't quite handle full nvidia hair physics, but that's not really worth the 8-10fps or so hit IMOP unless you have some serious gear such as SLI or titan (or both

).edit: OH and BTW my system is now rock solid - I haven't had a single CTD or other system issue relating in over 20 hours of gaming - that's unusual and something for which CDPR should be commended. When people say they have a problem with X, it isn't necessarily X that is the cause of their difficulties… : ).
