Patch 1.04
May 25th, 2015, 17:08
Just got released and GOG galaxy already updated my game. Changelog:
Stopping all activities and I'm back to Orcharid to buy/win those!
- Rebinding any key is now available after switching Unlock Bindings option in Options \ Key bindings submenu.Basically an irrelevant patch except the thing I marked.
- Corrects an issue in the dialog system that might rarely cause dialog looping in scenes.
- Fixes an issue with incorrect behavior of Wild Hunt warriors after they were under the influence of Axii sign.
- Corrects a bug causing spontaneous combustion of gas clouds.
- 1280 x 720 resolution is now properly displaying as valid resolution option.
- Fixes boat stuttering in cutscenes.
- Texture rendering quality for high / ultra presets improved.
- Further improvements in NVIDIA Hairworks performance.
- A few additional Gwent cards are now available in the Prologue area.
- Fixes an issue where users with usernames using non-latin characters were unable to import saves from Witcher 2.
- Overall stability and performance improvements.
- Fixes related to alt + tabbing and minimizing game window.
- Game icon updated.
- Enlarges the size of the loot pop-up window in the UI.
- Fixes an issue where, in certain circumstances, the comparison window could be displayed outside of game borders in the UI.
- Upgrading set items no longer destroys sockets.
- Small UI tweaks for Gwent.
- Corrects some missing translations in localized versions.
Stopping all activities and I'm back to Orcharid to buy/win those!

Sorry joxer but I think the binding unlock is much more important than a few more Gwent cards.

I give them brownie points though - two solid patches and not even a week since release. The key binding thing was a silly error, but almost immediately rectified.

I couldn't care less about gwent, the key binding however is great.
The hokey binding is only so useful since rebinding most of those actions is only half useful - they don't work properly as toggles.
Ex, I rebind (M)ap to F3. Now F3 opens map, but doesn't close it, M still does, or hitting Esc three times, so IMO - useless - I need it to fully rebind the WHOLE toggle since one of my irritations with the game is having to hit Esc 3x to get out of those types of screens (or hitting the appropriate hotkey for the screen you're in, which doesn't work if you rebind unless you use their original and inefficient wrong side of the keyboard mappings).

It's not a big deal for me as I'm used to hitting Esc anyways. It's probably just an oversight, and I expect it'll probably be fixed in the next patch.

Check your graphics settings and make sure the patch didn't reset anything. It set my textures to Low for some reason. Patch 1.03 did that as well.

Sorry guys, default key binds are ok with me so I find that part of the patch irrelevant.

Has anyone been able to sell animal hides to anyone since 1.04? There was an exploit that folks were using but they seemed to have "fixed" this by only allowing hides to be dismantled, but not sold. I've only been in the WO area though since the patch….They did the same thing with seashells in Novigrad. The merchant doesn't sell them anymore because you could actually make a decent profit if you were patient enough to exploit it.
I personally think there should be a way to make good money if that's your goal. The quest rewards are much too low for Geralt to keep his gear in good shape and I'm not a mini-game player. I don't have the patience for Gwent, horse racing, fist fighting, etc. I want to make money by selling loot and questing
I haven't tried the merchants have more money mod or similar things, but I wouldn't mind a mod that greatly increased the value of monster parts. Geralt has a skill that should be in very high demand amongst alchemists and craftspeople. Common items that are in peasant hovels should be cheap; after all a peasant could afford it. However, almost nobody has the skill to wield silver weapons and kill monsters. That should be worth a lot of money. The people who need these items should have the money to buy them. The blacksmith would have money from soldiers and peasantry and alchemists would have money made from selling assets that peasants offer in trade for poultices and talismans, etc.

I sold hides last night on 1.04 to at least a couple different merchants.

Is there a skill, wearable, or consumable that increases your haggle ability? I hardly get anything more when I haggle.
May 27th, 2015, 22:08
In Witcher 2 there was some sort of secret traits to improve haggling I think but I didn't find anything close to that in Witcher 3.
