I'm not sure, but I felt that BG1:EE content didn't really blend in well with original content. My point is that new content/game doesn't fit really well with the original game, regardless of who worked with it. I don't even like playing with modded NPCs installed in BG1.

I don't think I even detected any particular style in the original BG. It was always a strange combination of utterly silly and super serious. I've only encountered a couple of the new NPCs in the EE version, and they seemed fine to me.
I think BG:EE is a nice little updated version in some ways - but it's still a blatant cash grab.
To me, giving people something they want doesn't exclude the process being a cash grab.
I feel much the same about what Disney is doing with Star Wars.
