I really don't know if that is true … - but it is reasonable at least, if it is / would be true. If I was a movie maker, I wouldn't like to see - or even hear about it - that such a form of "parody" would exist of my movie …
Well I doubt it is the only reason, but GL getting upset because of a porn parody does not sound too far fetched. After all GL is fond of kid friendly entertaiment nowdays. Thats partly why TPM was such a disaster. He wrote it for young children, but audience had grown up. And ofcourse poor script, second rate acting doesn't help much either.

As for parodies in general, If I was a filmmaker I would take it only as a compliment if someone would do any kind of parody of my work.
