Grim Dawn - Looking Back
January 12th, 2016, 16:48
In the 88th edition of Grim Misadventures we get to look back at what happened in 2015 with Grim Dawn.
Hello and welcome to Grim Misadventures 2016! It is an exciting year, the year Grim Dawn will leave Early Access behind and mature to full-release. That time is almost upon us as February is fast approaching. We are busily chipping away at polish and bug fixing tasks that will help Grim Dawn shine at release.Read more at the link above. For this year there is this:
2015 was a very good year from Grim Dawn. The game saw many critical additions and improvements that had a dramatic impact on the product as a whole. Many of these changes occurred thanks to the feedback we have received on the forum. In many ways, you, the players, have helped shape the direction of the game.
Let’s take a look at just how much was introduced into Grim Dawn back in 2015, across 7 Builds and 17 Hotfixes…..
We may be reaching the end of the line, but that does not mean we are going to stop improving the game. We still have a few surprises in store for the release itself, but you can look forward to something even sooner than that. We have been busily chipping away at various balance issues and bugs in order to prepare Build 29 Hotfix 4. However this update’s changelog has now grown so big that it has earned the status of a Build.More information.
The update will bring many changes to the existing balance of Masteries, including the complete overhaul of certain skills. We took a look at the balance on Elite and Ultimate and made some adjustments to the overall damage and Offensive and Defensive ability values. You can also look forward to tweaks to Devotion and Legendary items, including the addition of two new Legendary sets and one new weapon. Finally, the Loghorrean encounter has received a tuning pass that should put him more in line with the difficulty you would expect on Normal and Veteran. There's more, but it's really best to save it for the Changelog, which is coming sooner than you think.
You can look forward to Build 30 later this week, with the full release still expected in February.

"… thing about Morrowind is we did far more than we could, far less polished than we should. It's a miracle that it works at all… there's too much, and it's like jazz… a product like Oblivion - far better software… but Morrowind… oh there's so much delicious nonsense in that." ~ words of wisdom by K.Rolston

Awesome game. Worth every penny if you ask me.
Nice graphics and effects, complex itemization and character development systems, lot of content (full 4 acts, fully implemented and coompleted itemization), no online only crap, great developer.
I love this game.

hopefully with skill rework and ultimate rebalance in b30 i can mess around with lethal gambit/cold builds. I also would like to run a rifle build which doesn't sux.

I've been playing it exclusively since B29. It's great fun. I really have no urge to even try the new season of D3 now that the full game is basically out. So many character builds to try, and the next game build should make things even better.

Bought it ages ago purely based on love of TQ. I've dabbled and enjoyed it. Kind of been waiting for it to be more complete before fully diving in.

Sneaking in under the radar for the last umpteen years, well worth the wait. So much TLC from the devs.

I finally thought it was time I tried Path of Exile, and as well done a hack and slay game it is, I find the always online requirement for playing in single player mode extremely annoying. And its not only because I'm always online, but because for example that maps only remain 8 minutes in memory once you leave them, which is I think another sacrifice to being always online, or the long time the game takes to start, or that one evening I was booted from the server twice. Thank god Grim Dawn won't have this.

Been playing a Warder built around heavy lightening damage and have to say this is my favorite ARPG since Titan Quest. I still can't one shot the end boss on Vet difficulty, but I know why and have been building gear/skills in order to take that fight. Really great game.

For good? They "fixed" it before, but never for good
