Lol…I've just read someone's "Uber-Epic" review on Steam.
I didn't even bother reading the name of the author and knew immediately who it is.
Brumbek doesn't need cocaine.
And yes, before you answer, I'm sure that you don't need it when you can play Dragon's Dogma.

I love the one asking if there will be a "day one" patch because of some graphical issues the pirated version apparently has…

Well, that's Steam for you in general. No oversight, worst of the worst run the place. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Yeah, I read that guy's review, too. Such obvious bias. He doesn't even try to be objective. I mean he does point out a lot of issues if you read the whole thing, but he's clearly blind. I don't even think he should be entitled to an opinion. I mean, his review is well written, and he's got a large selection of other interesting reviews…but I just don't think he has a right to speak! Any praise he gives is just fanboi talk…there's no way, NO WAY, the game could actually be really good…just no way. [END PARODY]

PS: what type of loser posts an "Uber-Epic" review?!?! Seriously, what a loser. … … Oh…it was a joke? Like he purposely titled it that way to be funny? I'm sorry, but I'm not old/educated/wise enough to understand what irony is. [END STEAM USER PARODY FOR REAL]

Pretty useless tips there. I have a few, though…

I think before you start playing this is worth a look at http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Character_Weight

Also, you have DLC/expansion stuff in your deposit box which includes a recall stone.

Probably start your pawn off as fighter just to get him that Sinew perk for extra carry weight cos they'll act as a mule so you can stay light longer. You can multiclass as often as you like to get all the "good perks"

Played the game for a few hours, reached level 24 now and dont see why this game is getting so much praise, feels like a mmo. The combat is meh at best, you get annoying respawns, alot of time wasted with walking between locations over and over again while the world seems generic, the interface is tiresome, quests are not interesting (mostly fetch), story nonexisting, and the negative parts can continue. Only nicely done stuff is the pawn thing and how cool they react between them, how they talk all the time and so on.

I had a quest now to escort some dudes from A to B and mobs literally were spawning next to me lol. Dont know maybe i had too many expectations after i read all the good stuff about it, but for me it seems an average game at best.

Yes and the cracks are usually available on release day (or even before). Dragon's Dogma is cracked already and available from warez sources.

Only a few more days until we get to see if console players have crappy tastes or not.

There is already a review of the PC version out on Gamekult in French (6/10) too.

Gothic 2 is medicore game and everything that you wrote about DD can be applied to Gothic games as well (maybe besides story but its not Planescape level also - its only decent). Some things are much worse because for example UI in DD is just copy of console/gamepad UI and crappy interface and controls in gothic games are crappy bacause developer incompetence and lack of skill not bacause its a console game.

Thats what im commenting.

I just never understand the praise that some ppl give to Gothic series because they are just medicore for me so i found very funny that your favorite game have basically the same flaws that 'medicore' Dragon Dogma.

Also DDDA its not a single focused cRPG game - its Hack And Slash/loot hunt game with multiplayer tied into main gameplay mechanics that happens to have some story that really nobody care of. Like Diablo or even Dark Souls series.
Thats all.

I don't believe any of those criticism applies to Gothic 2 but each to their own and all that

If you could mesh Gothic 2's story, RPG elements and depth with DD's combat and playability there'd be one hell of a game!

I dun told you the game has a slow start. The first 5 hours or so is slow in story and gameplay. Dogma leaves a very weak first impression, sadly. You're still in the tutorial-mode until you reach Gran Soren and start the real quests.

It all gets very, very intriguing when you visit Gran Soren. I promise you the story becomes very, very unique once you begin looking into the reappearance of the Dragon.

But about combat being meh…don't judge it off fighting goblins in the first area with only your basic attack. You don't have any of the awesome combat skills yet.

About mobs spawning right next to you…not sure what that's about…its unclear if the pirated press copy is the actual final release copy or not…maybe that is a bug…hard to say.
