Posted this in other thread.

It deserves the good scores. I have played about 50 hours since release and think it is a fantastic game. Very unique and enjoy the graphics. I do not think it is as hard as everyone is saying. I have not lost any guys and have a bunch of lvl 4 characters. Have not had to use tavern or church much to relieve stress either. Playing on the hardest settings with corpses and stress heart attacks.

I have been playing these type of games since the 80's but I was hoping it would be a little harder since that is all I read about Darkest Dungeon. If you want to make a killer group use the Sunrise Stunners I think it is called. That's the crusader, hellion, plague doctor, and vestal. With the right trinkets I crush the enemy. Nothing can hold up to their stuns or healing or stress relief.

I like my hellion, grave robber/highwayman,jester,vestal combo, DPS isn't the greatest, but I cover scouting, traps, stress and heals very evenly. I may have to try your combo tho, always good to experiment.

I try all kind of groups all the time. There are so many classes and so many circumstances that you have to change your group from time to time, or just want to try new stuff out. Not always turns out well though

I don't lose many heroes, but I've lost a few though. I don't find the difficulty extreme but much higher than in most of the games. Even if you're doing fine it is just probably because you're trying harder than with your average game. Darkest Dungeon does that to you, because you know that at any point in time a couple of misses, or criticals against you will get you against the wall.

Yeah I will say I pay attention while playing this game because I do not want to lose my favorite heroes. Really study which group to use with the right quirks and make sure my skills and armor is upgraded for the harder dungeons.

I do like to have good scouting for the larger dungeons and the group I mentioned earlier is lacking on the scouting.
