They can try to hype, but I'm not buying it this time.

I've never been able to "finish" Skyrim; I just keep losing interest. The possibility of a sequel isn't that enticing.

Eh, I'd place the next TES in cross region between Hammerfell and Summerset Islands, during war between two, with the player able to pick either side.
Way more interesting than their typical formula.

The "big" news is very likely Dishonored 2. Based on the original that sold less than a 1/10th of TES. Big is relative.
I really don't want to see another TES/Fallout until they build a new engine.

In my experience, whatever Hines and Howard are spewing, should not be trusted. I got burned with Oblivion and Star Trek Legacy, so i learned not to believe one word of what those two are saying.
P.S.: and no matter what are they saying, the fact remains that the graphic engine they are using is a modified Gamebryo (the very same that was used in Morrowind ages ago).

What's the problem with the engine?
Fallout 4 looked and played great.
There's always room for improvement of course, but I don't have any fundamental problems with it.

Also neither the Gamebryo nor the Creation Engine are just graphics engines - they are important for the simulation of the game world. And I don't see any other engine which can simulate that much. Doing Witcher 3 graphics together with the simulworld of Bethesda would result in an unplayable mess.
And I would rather have a chance at a more believable world in a game than a graphics benchmark ;-)

When Hines was talking about "Skyrim 2" he was talking about what other publishers would do i.e. how they would milk the success of Skyrim. It had nothing at all to do with what they are working on - the comprehension of some people on the internet is sorely lacking.

I'm happy enough with ESO at the moment, sure…it's an MMO, but it's a bloody good one now (was not the case at release though in vanilla form).

Not sure I have much interest anymore. Years ago I used to be enamored when they announced a new ES game. Two things cloud my enthusiasm now. 1) The games need modified heavily to be any good. 2) Bethesda has moved too much into the FPS action game too much for me.
I liked Skyrim once I added over 100 mods though. My guess is next ES game they will remove attributes entirely.

Or is there a way to play solo and explore and find interesting quests etc…?

ESO is essentially single player with optional PVP and group areas. Its the only MMO ive ever been able to get into. If Fallout MMO follows ESOs example I'm in!

If the game is so much like a sp game that seeing other players is immersion breaking, then there is something fundamentally wrong with the game design. Or your expectations. An MMO should be all about playing with other people. If not, then there really isn't much point to it.
