Of course to a lot of people the programming aspect is a bit part of the fun and challenge.
But if a team would merely want to make an updated version of a game like UU, wouldn't it be the easiest to use something like the Skyrim mod tools?
The interface would of course be different, but it would be hard to argue that UU's interface would be better.

This needs to come to the iPad badly so we can enjoy it on long camping trips or plane rides.
