Default Legend of Heroes: TitS Second Chapter

June 14th, 2016, 18:24
Played it for 30+ hours.
Uninstalled.

- Same characters
- Same maps
- Same music
- Same combat
- Same mobs
- Same items
- Same everything!

- New story that is not interesting even a bit
- New pokemon to collect (fish)

I'm disappointed. The first game was fantastic, but the second one even Olivier's hitting on everyone cannot save.
This game is a blueprint of how to milk more money from something by producing an effortless sequel. Was in fact. Modern games do it with horse armor.

Buy the first TitS game as soon as you can, it's worth every penny and is IMO a musthave.
Avoid this sequel like a plague.

Yup while I played the first game, I heard from a friend to avoid the second. Such a shame, because the first was quite good.

That's really sad! Here I was hoping for something even bigger and better than the first. Thanks for the warning, Joxer…

Weird, since SC is considered to be better than FC.

Maybe you played it too soon after FC and that's why you felt like everything was the same. One of the highlights of the game is that you can see how those places developed since the last time you've been there. And apparently you didn't play it enough to see the interesting story points. Did Joshua come back yet?

I wasn't the biggest fan of SC's initial story structure, though. It gets better when they meet the guy who was known as Lorence in FC and especially when Estelle gets abducted. And the sense of humor in this game was just as hilarious as in FC.

P.S. Btw, if you disliked revisiting all places, be prepared for Cold Steel II to disappoint. That's how this company does it: they present you new places, they grow on you and you revisit them and see all those people once again.

No I didn't reach the point of Joshua (but I said same everything) return, there was so far only one "cutscene" with him visiting a grave.
I finished chapter 1 and am probably at half of chapter 2. I did all sidestuff possible which means running left-right like crazy, took me more than 30 hours.

If Cold Steel is what you've described, yes, I'd hate it.

SC is ultimately about Ouroboros, and I feel like first chapters were unfortunate. Not for the same reason as you, I feel like there are many holes in logic of the storytelling in these chapters.

If you don't enjoy seeing life and familiar characters in the same towns, then I'm afraid it can't be helped. This company has a habit of introducing places in the first game and then taking you through them in the next one again.

I suppose you could watch someone's LP starting from Estelle's abduction if you're interested in the story at all. Although you'd have missed a few Ouroboros introductions and they'll be irrevocably spoilt if you ever decide to give the game a go, but since it's unlikely here goes:

Oh?

pibbur who may have a more dirty mind than the cheshire cat, but who refuses to elaborate. And who has taken great care to not saying anything explicitly, so he can't be blamed.

I'm probably going to end up getting the second chapter anyway, just like I'll be getting the second chapter of Trails of Cold Steel. (Even though Elel probably can't figure out why I like ToCS as much as I do )
