VC goes HD? I don't see why exactly, but okay I guess. I'll buy it when it hits PC.

I'm wondering if it might actually be the PC version ported back to the PS4.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization looks really nice…it's still TBA in North America but a release date of Fall 2016 has been slated for Europe. Either way, it looks like it'll be out in NA and EU this year.

If you watch the videos at the link, I'd suggest watching the IGN one (third one down) first.

I got excited when I read about it… until I read it's going to be yet another button smasher

Why would anyone want to play a single player game set in a virtual MMORPG gameworld?

You might be playing Kirito, the king of soloing, but still, wouldn't it work better to make the game a MMORPG?

Anime characters running around in a fairly realistic looking pasture. That's… freaky. Japanese Roger Rabbit.

I can't say the game looks real exciting to me, either. I didn't see any hint of strategy - just pile on the critters until they suddenly dissolve, then run to the next one.

What's VRMMORPG??

I'm not optimistic really because SMTIV was quite bad. Ridiculously easy, annoying generic sidequests that had you backtrack endlessly and led to nothing, super tiny dungeons, no interesting story or characters…

Really? This isn't the first time this has been done. .hack//Sign was tremendously popular. It must not bother a lot of people as much as it bothers you.

Well do keep in mind that the game is still in development, and it's not gonna be out for a while yet. They're just showing off the current build of the game.

And hey. I think it looks good, so

It certainly LOOKS good, I don't know if it's going to play good.

I think the "VR" part refers to the fact that it's virtual reality in game…so like .hack//Sign kind of thing.

Sword Art Online is a series of light novels about VRMMORPGs (and online gaming in general). The game SOA:Hollow Realization is a the single player RPG based off the novels.

Going by the press release and vidoes, expect this to be Kirito (the guy you play) and his harem.

I remember playing the original Hack Saga before it was remastered on the PS2, and watching the anime version. A few RPGMaker games were inspired by them also.

Data Hacker: Initiation

Data Hacker: Reboot

All three can be bought for just $3. Now that's a bargain on Steam right now.

No mention of Nioh? It looks (sort of) like a crossover between Ninja Gaiden and Dark Souls, but actually seems fun.
Definitely worth checking out.
