The best for me was The Aielund Saga

I've been meaning to try The Prophet series, since it's been getting so many accolades.

Would personally recommend Saleron's Gambit. Really enjoyed what I played of that and look forward to checking out more NWN modules going forward.

Honestly, I'd rather play an NWN module instead of many new RPGs. I love NWN's mechanics and ruleset adaptation.

QFT. Same here.

The great thing about the 2 NWN's is the endless possibilities when building your character. Added to that you don't have to play the MQ over and over whilst doing it - there's enough community content to allow you play characters through multiple adventures and never touch the MQ again. That for me is one things that sets them miles ahead of just about any other game since.

I'm playing it now, though I really should be working! One of my favorites, even though not full party based. My skills at keeping my henchmen alive need a bit of work!

Great game!

I played after Baldur's Gate 2 and it was soooo frustrating. The story was boring, the quests were boring, the combat was meh at best and the graphics were so goddamned awful. I hate early 3D (especially in the Playstation 1 era, but early 3D in pc sucks, too, sometimes). The art was uninspired. I played for about 5 or 10 hours before giving up and never playing any of the modules or NWN 2. I will still play them sometime, but I'm really not looking forward to it.
Same here as well. When NWN came out and I cranked it up, I literally couldn't believe I was playing the "next great RPG" from the same company that had made BG1 and BG2. Everything was such a downgrade compared to what we'd had just a couple years before. People excused away its awfulness by talking up its multiplayer/custom campaign stuff, but I was never interested in multiplayer, and user-made stuff didn't exist at release even I'd wanted to try that.

Later on during a particularly bad RPG drought, I went back and forced myself to go through it all. Was pretty much just as bad as I thought it was the first time. The second expansion was actually pretty decent, though.

Well, the original NWN is terrible. The story, the UI and the henchman system was what turned me off.
I finally get back to it after reading many recommendation. The UI and henchman system was still bad though, i had to get used to it. What really hold me was the vast majority of high quality mod.
Today i still play nwn and i still never finish the OC and the two expansions which i never care.

Aielund Saga is fine but not outstanding. I find the novel of Aielund Saga is more enjoyable than the module.

If anyone is looking for some good module, i will recommend Swordflight.

Neverwinter Nights + Shadows of Urinetide + Hoars of The Underdark + Hall-Of-Fame user made modules = the best D&D bang for the buck that has existed (sorry, I got a bad case of pun fever tonight, but I stand by wat I say above).

I had an absolute blast playing Saleron's Gambit. I played as a druid/monk/shifter, and nothing, I repeat, NOTHING is more fun than morphing into a giant kung fu fightin' minotaur that virtually nothing can beat, or turning into a drake and spraying acid-piss all over the final boss and taking him down in three spurts.

I have to agree, playing a shifter is some of the most fun I've had in NWN.

I highly recommend playing the Prophet series.

As all four mods are well designed with good NPC's, a decent plot-line, and the ending was a big reveal I never expected while playing. It reminded me of the butterfly effect.

This thread got me to install Never Winter Nights 2: Platinum. I got it on STEAM right before it dissipated but never really played it. I could use a break from The Elder Scrolls Online so here we go.
