Can I play this just to sightsee and for story?
Can I play this just to sightsee and for story?

So, The Witcher 3. Getting ready to play it but I hate "skill based" and twitch games. Is it feasible to just set difficulty down to basically nothing so I can enjoy the story and content without worrying that it's going to take me 3 tries to bring down that boss monster?
I play for relaxation more than challenge these days.

Yes. There are 4 or 5 difficulty levels. I played on the 2nd hardest level, and it felt about average to me. Judging from that, the easiest difficulty must be a real cakewalk.

Put it on easiest difficulty and you'll have no trouble.

Unfortunately Witcher games always have some quests where you have to beat someone by using special timed sequence of hitting certain buttons on your keyboard or mouse in order. So even on easiest mode it will take several senseless attempts to beat the monster.
High Stakes quest is one of them. And this quest is a kind of quest you do not want to skip. I was very unhappy about it.

If you mean brawling optional stuff, bah. Dodge to left then hit, something like that I can't remember any more but works everywhere. It's not QTE anyway.

What is QTE? I'm talking indeed about that fistfight. And yes, it is 100% depends on how handy you are with the keyboard or mouse or joystick or whatever. It also depends on how fast your PC (frame rate of your PC) is. I had to Google it a couple of times, then I had to watch on youtube how to pass the fight and even then I had to save/reload about 5 times before I could manage it. I just don't understand the fun that I supposed to get doing save/load sequence multiple times. There's also some other places in game where you have to do about the same. Luckily there are not many places like this, but still, action elements are here and there throughout the game. There's no way to skip this "fun" unfortunately.

QTE is when you need to press in a second when they appear on screen: ASDZXCVB, PgUp, PgDown, Backspace and arrow keys. Mixed randomly. Where? Final Fantasy 10. Do I recommend this game? No.
But you got me thinking there. The brawl could easily be linked with framerate which can make it too hard to react then. Dunno. I'll replay the game for sure, next time I'll try to lower FPS while in fistfight to check it (if I turn on hairworks, on my poor old GTX 760 it drops to 10 FPS, as if it's iPhone not PC). Wouldn't surprise me if you're right.

Sightseeing/immersion is the main reason I play TW3. Even on easy mode, though, you still have to use judgement (unless you're using level scaling) or you can still get killed pretty bad. I would say that no matter how you like playing RPGs, TW3 is a great game regardless.
