Risen 2 was better to me than many people made it out to be. Risen 1 is still my favorite, but Risen 2 was really cool in its own right. It's one of those cases where I spent 60 hours to beat it and was left wanting more.

I liked Risen two, really liked Risen three, but neither touched the abject love I have for the first game. It just hit all the right places for me. All three are certainly worth playing.

Yea I know you don't want to even bother, it's EA, etc… But give it a shot. It's more roleplay than some games advertised as RPG.
Midweek madness on Steam (you can use all those keys also on Origin). If you'll try it, one thing I have to say:
DO NOT BUY EVERYTHING.
What to buy then? Apart from the main game (10€), buy only these DLC:
- Ambitions (9€)
- World Adventures (9€)
- Supernatural (10€)
Nothing else. The rest of it is junkware or bugs the game in so many ways you'll never properly enjoy it.
Sure, 40€ seems too much, but I promise you more than 100 hours of fun.

There's a back-to-school sale on GOG today. Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines is two thirds off.

Yes I know you won't play nonfurry The Witcher 3 on this rubbish, but think about future, when pisspoor ports with insulting UI appear on your rig, you'll have the necessary mushrooms.
Note: I'm writing this because of people who can't get rid of console addiction. While I don't want this thing in my home even if it was free, it's only fair to point people on cheap offers - I just wish console audience pointed me on something from PC that got discounted.

It's not the only discounted Square Enix' "not profitable currently" product, Final Fantasy Online got discounted 50% so pop in till it lasts. If you're into MMOs, for just 10 bucks you can get your grind fix:
