Dungeon Rats - Sneak Peak
November 1st, 2016, 16:52
Colonel RPG aka Morbus has checked out the upcoming RPG Dungeon Rats:
More information.loading…
It is my privilege and pleasure to present Dungeon Rats, from the same guys that gave us The Age of Decadence and Dead State. It's a turn-based, party-based dungeon-crawling RPG and it's coming out on November 4th!
It is set in the world of The Age of Decadence where we play a bunch of prisoners in a series of tactical combats, fighting our way out of a prison mine - and frequently dying in the attempt.

Looking forward to all the Steam discussion once again.
How dare this game make me fail!

That date I'll be at the hospital but will be back a few days after, so guys do me a favor and post many many impressions. Feels like instabuy, but is it?

I can't believe that modern games are still using square grid movement. It's archaic. But other than that the combat looks good.

I thought this had crappy diablo combat for some reason. Now that I see it's turn based color me interested.
No preorder or price on steam page even though it releases on the 4th?

Turn based is good, but the GUI sucks unless Devs allow to Scale GUI to 100… 110… 120.. 130% like in Fantastic Bombastic Amazing Grim Dawn.
Combat at least looks interesting.

Now if it was only a four direction square grid, I would agree with you.

Square grids are only useful for corridors. Otherwise they create distorted movement patterns. Hex grid movement (and ranged targeting) is much more realistic.

I'm thinking this is going to be an instant purchase for me. Grid and turn based, /swoon!

Certainly is for me
I really like the combat in AoD, so more of the same sounds good.
I also like their writing style so that is good for me.
Not sure when I'll be able to play it though.

Nod, that comment about AoD is spot on. Every fight was important, every battle/win significant, at the time it reminded me of games like FF Tactics, where almost every single conflict could (and usually did) matter right then, and also probably later down the road.
