Showing appreciation for a forgotten classic but Jesus the damn text .. I wish they would have used a different font! I hope we get more historical RPGs in the future

Sounds like an amazing game. I've been sleeping on it but it's now on my short list. Thanks! Nice channel, by the way. Nice to see other YouTube channels that focus on RPGs.

Darklands is unique, but it does suffer from the curses that come with procedurally generated content.

True story, I tested this product back in the days when I lived in Maryland, and I probably played it through about ten times after it was released. This game is simply excellent, both then and now.

Here is a steam discussion with one of the devs.

Darklands is indeed a great game, and one of the games I'd most like to see remade. The original still has a few designs flaws and bugs, like you can miss things if you use the mouse for overland movement instead of movement keys (or was it the other way around?), only half a dozen quests active at a time, and the Great Hunt being really underwhelming (it was like one little demon only).

I'd certainly buy this again as a remake, or even kick in to a fundraising project, should it ever happen. This really was an unforgettable game.

Fantastic game, was ahead of its time. Hated the font, though.

"… thing about Morrowind is we did far more than we could, far less polished than we should. It's a miracle that it works at all… there's too much, and it's like jazz… a product like Oblivion - far better software… but Morrowind… oh there's so much delicious nonsense in that." ~ words of wisdom by K.Rolston
