The Quest

Anyone played it? Pretty neat game so far. It really is sort of like a turn-based Morrowind.

yep finished it after 31h, and to quote my steam review
Great hidden gem; even though it is kinda simple compared to other games in the genre, its still fun and interesting, with a unique atmosphere/artstyle reminding of old games like Daggerfall or M&M. Also it has a cards game you can play at inns, not as fun as Gwent but still you can lose hours with it if you like it.

Looks pretty cool.
Not party based, though? Does the combat suffer much?

The combat seems like you will need certain things to be successful. So far I've already used some of the scrolls I picked up, potions and spells. It seems a little more "meaningful" than TES games typically are (resources seem more important, I mean), and some of the "optional" enemies in the first dungeon I explored were pretty tough and required more tactics like I mentioned.
So yeah, combat is actually pretty cool.

Cool, 'nut. We seem to like a lot of the same games.
My dad likes it too, which is cool. I'm trying to introduce him to more "old-school" CRPG things. He's a huge fan of Morrowind but he plays it on console as he is used to a controller. He likes The Quest, though, but he's also playing on his tablet with touch controls. Baby steps, I guess.

I wonder if we should start a thread with DosBox configs for different games / systems.

And yeah, controls optimisation is another thing that an official re-release by Bethesda could fix.

Some smart people have ported Fallout, Arcanum, etc., to Android. They even have unique button interfaces to make the games playable. But that's another topic.
A thread for DosBox configs would be cool.

I've played it years ago on Windows Mobile (back when phone operating systems had balls
). It was on a first generation HTC TyTN. Sigh, I miss sliding qwerty keyboards on phones…
