Not at all. Basically, many systems of your body seem to work better that way. My problem were stomach pains and heartburn every morning, constantly. So this practice helped me a ton with gastric acid (eliminated it completely). But later I've found out it is beneficial for your circulation and heart muscles too. If I recall correctly, I even think that women during pregnancy are advised to sleep on their left. Anyway I'm sure you can find much more information online.
Also, when I sleep on my right side, my arm falls asleep (for non-native English speakers, this is just what we call limbs that get tingly due to a lack of blood circulation (I think)) but never on my left for some reason.

Its good to know that you can train your body to sleep for 6 hours etc and still be healthy! I am sleeping 7/8 hours and its eating away at my game times so my new aim is to train myself to sleep less!
However I don't plan to tell this to my wife since if she finds out I got spare 2 hours, she will find more chores for me to do around the house

You're looking at this the wrong way. You should be glad you have got two hours to spare to support your wife, so she can relax, and become the lovely, happy, sexy creature again she was at the time you married.

Due to a sleep disorder I have no set schedule. Lately I have been trying (the operative word) to go to sleep around 3AM and wake up around 11AM. I'm actually somewhat crepuscular most days - I'm awake around dawn and dusk and sleep during the rest of the day. Maybe I picked it up form the cats.
I sleep in "chunks" more than 8 hour periods of time like most folk.

I don't know if lostforever's life is like mine but I think we should take this great advice.
Let me see,
-Wake up at 4:30
-Out the door at 5:30 ( although if I skip showering and eat breakfast on the road I could save a half hour more to support my wife)
- home from work 7-730
- clean up, eat 730-8
- spend some time with wife and kids 8-930
- 930-11 work on projects around the house, paperwork for the business, plan employees next day.
- 11- 12 or so gaming
- 12-430 sleep.
So what you're saying is I should take my 11-12 or so that I get from basically depriving myself of sleep and use that time instead to support my wife who hasn't worked in 15 years and has more free time in a day than I have in a week.
This will enable her to become the lovely, happy, sexy creature that she used to be before marrying me and having it all drained out of her apparently.
The more I think about it the better it sounds. Ready to sign up for this with me lostforever?
Maybe we could just sleep 2 hours so we could serve, err I mean support our wives even more so they could be even more lovely, happy and sexy. You know, like they were before marrying us.

Aimed at lostforever. With whom I have made fun, one from the other and back, in the past on several occasions. And his above reply to me was lovely - touching. Any woman would love her man to say a thing like he said about her to me.

I can see you saw an opportunity to hook specifics about your life to my reply to lost, but in case you were dead serious with your "So what your saying is": no, I did not say that, moreover I'd never say that.
If you'd like to game all day, go ahead for all I care, why on earth should I try to stop you or lecture you about anything concerning your real life? Do whatever you fancy to do. What am I, my Brothers Keeper?
