What games are you playing now?

I know you disagree; you posted otherwise just a few days ago. What I don't understand is why in every thread everywhere you have to drown out any opinion that differs from your opinion. I know you want a high post count but get real.

@JDR
I've not played the Directors Cut of DX:HR either yet - so I'll be interested in hearing how that goes.
I think my original playthrough was marred by overly high expectations. I've also been in the mood for something cyberpunk lately, and this is hitting all the right buttons for me.

Playing Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2. Haven't played it for ages, I remember uninstalling it because the 150MB it took up on the drive was to much back then.
It's still good, considering. Some things are impressive, such as supporting modern 1920x1080 resolutions in a game from 1997 (though it ends up cropping a 4:3 image resulting in a crummy FOV), along with some other options.
Some things not so great, like the bouncy/floatiness of the movement and some level design, though it also has some solid level design and sometimes causes you to stop and stare at a massive vista in such an old game.
Still lots of fun though and enjoyable, the best and most fun powers are of course Dark Side, "Unlimted,,Powwaaaa".
For a 20 year old game it's holding up great. Can even still look good with some of the modifications that improve the meshes and textures (by default the game loves switching to low detail textures the moment you walk away from something, the days of 16MB RAM).

Ahhh the Jedi Knight series… So many happy memories of that one. Particularly the later games like Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy - awesome lightsaber fighting, and really difficult at times as well. Some of the two-on-one battles were eye-wateringly hard!
but massively satisfying when you finally won.
Yeah I also liked the level designs in the Dark Forces series - I always got lost though!

Yesterday I just started playing Legends of Grimrock 1 (yes, you read it correctly
)
I'm at game's start, faced few combats (the giant snails), none of my chars got to level 2, but I am liking it so far.

Finished Final Fantasy eight and, I must say, I've finally played an FF game that I never ever will replay again, lol. What a slog-fest that one was. Now I'm on to Chronicles of a Dark Lord, which has been a delight to play so far. Doesn't seem to be any controller support but, that's just fine because the keyboard commands actually make sense! I'm enjoying this one a lot more than the prior game that I just finished, only a little over an hour played but its quite good.

Still that's not to say it's bad, it does well on the complex levels and often has clues.
Just finished it a a little while ago, the boss fights are okay, except for one which jumps around constantly, perpetually, incessantly, unrelentingly… you get the picture, infact the picture seems to be trying to make the player motion sick with the boss constantly jumping, that really sucked.
The last boss is an insane bullet sponge, it crosses into tedium, with a bonus that normal weapons apparently usually charge his force power without doing any damage or warning you of that.
Still it was fun and enjoyable. Also being 20 years old it really is impressive, so many games today make more mistakes in more areas.
I also really like Outcast and Academy, I actually played this because I was going to play those again but thought I may as well run through this first for the Kyle Katarn things and old times sake.

If you don't mind a suggestion, without spoilers, I'd suggest specialising each character as you won't have enough points to really multi-class. So for example don't give one guy both light and heavy armour or two weapon skills as you then won't max either and still end up only using one or the other.
Same thing with magic, may be tempting to have a mage learn Ice and Fire but would then probably end up being a master of none. (Ice is cool
)Also try make the characters diverse/distinct from eachother. For example having two fighters both using axes and heavy armour could be a waste as you'd find weapons and armour that don't suit them and you wouldn't be able to equip them both with the best of those types of gear.
There's also some good and crazy user made dungeons. I think the "Master Quest" is one which changes up the original game so you can essentially replay the main game, but the puzzles and layout have been altered so you can rediscover and solve things all over. It also supports high lever characters for a NewGame+ situation. Some new stuff too I think.
Then you get crazy stuff like some dungeon that I think may have close to a hundred levels called Lord of Chaos, like I said crazy lol.

Couldn't help myself and bought Horizon Zero Dawn yesterday. Well, the day before yesterday - but it took an entire day for it to download, as I can't use my "good" Internet connection on my PS4.
So far, all I can say is wow - that's one pretty game. I've been playing The Witcher 3 recently - but this game looks significantly better to my eyes.
Along with Rise of the Tomb Raider - I think this is potentially the prettiest game I've seen.
Amazing given the modest hardware.
Also, the combat has been absolutely amazing so far.
Not sure if the game will hold up - or if it has more than great combat, though the story seems rather interesting so far.

I played some Yooka Laylee today and I finished Thimbleweed Park. I'm having a good game bonanza lately!

The excellent thing about the game is that its 50/60 hours max with everything done. Its the only game in which I got a platinum trophy with 100% completion! So because of it's length it does not overstay its welcome and you won't get bored of all of its mechanics. Many recent games get ruined simply because someone thought all games have to be 100+ hours long. HZD achieves a brilliant balance since in introduces new stuffs etc as you go along and he game ens when it runs out of new stuff for you to learn.https://www.rpgwatch.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35393

Was going to finish Andromeda these next few days, but now I'm hooked on HZD

I'm actually going to use it as an excuse to upgrade to the PS4 pro!
