Ultima VII was released on April 16th 1992.

It was a ground breaking title in many ways especially in its interactivity and to most it was the apex of the series which declined with Ultima VIII and IX. Ultima IV will always remain my favorite of the series, but Ultima VII is a favorite of many others.
My primary complaint with the game is the combat - it felt like it was on autopilot, just click to start and sit back and watch. Everything else in the game had been made more interactive but combat was made less interactive. Another minor complaint was when it was released it used the Voodoo Memory Manager which was not compatible with other memory managers like QEMM so I needed to switch to a special boot to play Ultima VII.

pibbur who considers PS:T the Kashmir of games (Kashmir by Led Zepoelin is his all time favourite rock song). And who forgives the JDR.

If I'm right but there is no wife around to acknowledge it, am I still right?

U7 was released right around the time I was just starting to transition more into PC games. I've always meant to a full playthrough but just never got around to it. I've been waiting for Exult to get updated, but that's starting to look like it may never happen.
The only Ultima I've finished was Ultima III: Exodus on the NES. I really loved it back then. Not sure why I never went after more games in the series.
