Seen the review at gamespot and said my last farewell to that site. Author complained something about "Logical inconstincencies that put you out of world and the story", while having no issues as camouflaging as a walking box that distracts guards because it has a picture of a pretty woman on it.
Seriously, these crazy ideas are only possible in Japan…

You missed the thread.
And you can use the box without the poster if you want to.

Of all the crappy mainstream sites, I consider Gamespot the most reliable, though that isn't saying much.
This looks just like Shadows of Mordor to me, as in one endless action fest with minimal variety.

Anyone playing this right now? What's your opinion of it?
I was expecting another mediocre movie tie-in game, but I'm surprised at how well it's being received so far. It has a "Very Positive" rating on Steam after 7000+ reviews and a 8.5 user rating on Metacritic.

That said, it's well executed and pretty.
Probably a 6/10 game or something.

From what I hear it seems very mainstream, and tends to get repetitive.

Shadows of Mordor has set a new standard.
Mad Max is cut to this standard: similar game mechanics, similar amount of content, similar quality of production etc

I think Chien's comparison to Shadows of Mordor is a good one. Unfortunately, this is the kind of game that gamers have been clamoring for for years: a shallow game that can be learned easily and played quickly. We talk about RPGs vs. shooters vs. adventure games but I think, for a lot of people, the "deep vs. shallow" distinction is a more important to them than a game's genre.

That's scary.
If SoM is the new standard, then I'm not very optimistic about future releases.
Looks much more like the Far Cry 3 blueprint but not used in a same way. I know you could probably repeat your comment. Ok, but despite all the crap it includes, Far Cry 3 is a much much better game than Mordor, just my opinion.

On mobile they invented a slogan, quick to learn long to master, many mobiles game will match it and not sure it will appeal many RPG players looking for more depth.

"A minute to learn, a lifetime to master!" Othello. Showed up in the 70's. Mobile games definitely didn't invent that term.
But Witcher 3 and Skyrim don't fit that bill at all - especially the 'played quickly' part! Both can easily take 100 hours!
