I hope there is an option to just keep it like it is, a lot of the time it seems when companies make changes like this, they end up making it worse. Sometimes a lot worse.
Changes I would like to see, if they could allow us to hide the VR category, that would be great. I don't care about VR. I don't want it to be a separate category, unless it lets me hide all VR oriented games. That would be handy.
And its a must to have a feature that allows the text font to be adjusted on all steam pages, its completely ridiculous that the font size can't be adjusted unless you use an outside browser.

For me, it reminds me of 3D movies. In that I think they are a stupid gimmick, and yea, I have seen a ton of them, including modern ones, with all the bells and whistles today's technology in Hollywood allows. They have always been a stupid gimmick, and are still a stupid gimmick. This is my opinion. I always go to the 2D showing, if the movie has one available.
That said, I don't have VR, and have never played it, so this is all just based on my first impressions. But just from what I have read about it, it seems like it would strike me as the same type of deal. I just don't care about moving around physically to do crap in a gaming fantasy world. No appeal to me. As I have said before, if they ever get VR to the point that its like Star Trek's Holodeck in the tv show, in other words, an actual "virtual reality", then hell, yea, I would be incredibly interested. That probably won't happen for hundreds of years in the future though.

Well, in terms of experience VR is much, much better than a 3D Screen or 3D Cinema as it doesn't just try to improve the experience, it completely changes it.
That said, in terms of market share, I hope it will do better than 3D Screens.
But VR will never replace other mediums or genres 100%. Not because it's not great. But because it's a different experience. Like if you tell someone playing Bards Tale in the 80s about Action Packed FPS Games you have in the 2010s.
Yes, it's a great new experience, but it won't replace the existing one, as this one has a different appeal.

I've got one of these VR phone headsets for Christmas and still haven't tried it out yet. I guess that tells you how excited I am about VR…. :/ May be Joxer would like it.

Interesting take, maybe I'm too pessimistic about it. I thought eventually there would be all VR games as a main focus, but I can see where you are coming from. You are probably right too.

I should try it out and see if any of the games I have can use it.
Phone Headsets are limited to the power of the phone. Regular VR headsets need the Power of a GTX 960 or up to run their applications. Phone headsets cannot offer that and are therefore limited to specific phone VR experiences (so nothing you have in steam).

I guess I never really noticed anything wrong with the UI but I don’t typically search for anything. I already know what I want if I go to steam.
Then to play games it’s just a list of games and I click play. What else do I need. I’m just simple folk though.
