Which game would you get and why? (Out of the two in the title)
I'm going to buy some games when I get paid in a week or so. Wanting some opinions on this along with my other thread here

Pretty different games. Battle is barely a part of Crusader Kings 2.

AoE2 is just your standard RTS. CK2 is a simulation of a medieval ruler's life (in fact, the whole dynasty). You get to have concubines, imprison your enemies, seduce their wives and then exile the resulting bastards, for them only to come back 20 years later with an army and kick your arse.
Basically the only similarity between AoE2 and CK2 is the number '2'.

Erm… AoE2 is an ancient RTS which means it uses outdated RTS designs.
CK2 is basically a brand new game that introduces what RTS genre always needed - a rich story even better than the game itself. Just kidding, there is no story whatsoever.
IMO buy AoE2, skip CK2 completely unless you want to play Game of Thrones mod:

CKII is more dynasty-based and a game of AoE usually takes up to an hour, whilst CK can last over 40 hours.
I recommend watching Quill18's let's plays to see how CK2 works.

So AOE2 is more casual and CK2 is more hardcore?
CK2 is a historical medieval simulation, there is no battle screen, you are a noble with a county/duchy/kingdom/empire, and you decide what you want to do, there is no victory condition, what you do is plan how to build your dynasty, marrying yourself and your family to other nobles for their claims on territories or just because they have good stats (which increases the odds of your children having good stats/traits), those children will many years later be the nobles and rulers when you die (and then you play as your heir). Maybe the territory you acquired gets divided among your children, maybe your brother rebels against you and if he wins half your country separates, whatever. You'll spend 99% of the time looking at a map of Europe, no swords, no arrows, no soldiers fighting, just the map with the territories. There are battles of course, hundreds of battles, but you don't control them, your job is to manage your realm so you and your allies have more soldiers than your enemy, then send them to battle and the game will decide who wins (usually whoever has more soldiers).
Basically, just look at a youtube video so you can see for yourself what it is, like Arumba's tutorial:

hmmmm. Yeah, after checking into it more, I don't think CK2 is my cup of tea honestly. I think I'd get bored quick with it. I'm used to games like Stronghold, Knights and Merchants, Lords of the Realm, Age of Wonders, Disciples, HOMM and Warlords, etc. So knowing all of that, I would like AOE2 a lot better then CK2 huh?
Edit: CK2 regularly goes on sale for under 5 bucks I see. I may just wait for that to get that game (if I ever do)
