Sounds great. I hated the static nature of loot and most objects in Witcher 3.

Everything from Cyberpunk looks great. Hope they'll finally nail the gameplay this time!

Usually I say the thing I can't care less about in games is combat. Because that's the only thing phones and consoles can do so they bragg about that constantly hoping it'll hide everything else on those platforms is on garbage level.

But there is something I care even less about in games:
Destructible props.

Unlike some others here, instead of useless wall bulletholes and similar irrelevant whatnot, I'm more interested in useables that can construct something like gloo gun in Prey and bases components in Fallout 4.

What I'm saying here is things blown up in CP2077, okay, whatever.
But if we won't see building estate but just weapon/equipment crafting, I just don't care.

That aside, the video mentions something CDpr dared to add in The Witcher 3 - hairworks. To some, immersive world means being able to destroy a box, chop a cart or burn down some house. To me, immersive means no sex doll plastic hair.

I hope they do a decent job with the destructible environment tech. Most of the examples I've seen in the past just looked improbable. Even that exploding barrel they showed in the video didn't look real; the chunks were too rectangular.

Cyberpunk 2077 having Physical Objects & Destructible Environment is great news indeed, but I thought the linked video would show some of these features.

It's a pretty thin video. They've just noticed that CDPR has mentioned physicalized objects & destruction physics in an advert for an environment artist. Nothing concrete at all about the game.

Yeah, its like Chekov's Gun. If its there, there's got to be a good reason for it (in Hitchcock's case, many of them did have a purpose: as red herrings).

I'm curious where people are seeing that this looks great? I saw a teaser for it so far that's it….I'm interested in the game but haven't seen anything.

They did invest heavily into R&D for this game, one part is city simulation. And with how they handled world in Witcher, Night City could well turn out to be a new open world benchmark.
But this is really streching it, hoping interaction more in style of Arx Fatalis/Dark Messiah ( huge gameplay utility) than TES( meaningless object placement).

I think it's the concept that most people believe is great, and fans are already hinging on that.

Personally, I'll need to see more than just some art and teaser videos before I jump fully on the bandwagon.

Totally unimpressed when stuff like this is pushed as a selling point in an RPG.

Give me traditional content. Good writing. Diligent world-building. A well-dramatized story rife with peripeteia. Sound core systems. A fuckton of quests and factions.

People assume it's going to be great because they're fans of Witcher and the developer.

It's not really rocket science, though, and I bet you knew this already.

Actually wondered if they had saw some videos. I get the other part obviously.

I certainly don't think the only people excited about Cyberpunk are fans of The Witcher or CDP. Cyberpunk has its own existing fanbase, and the genre is also fairly popular on its own.

I also don't think all fans of The Witcher are automatically going to be fans of Cyberpunk. Those two worlds couldn't be much more different.
