Would be fine. I doubt they can get access to the license though. My money would be on Jagged Alliance. This would fit the plan of being a bit bigger than Shadow Tactics, but not AAA.

It is not possible to reboot old classics. They were made in different times with different demands.
Shadow Tactics is miles from being what commandos were.
They can set a product in WW2 that would gladly be depicted as commandos remade. Just labels.
