That does not answer anyone's question. How was felipepe not polite ?
First, it was not written by someone who liked it. People must write nothing if they do not like it. Liking is shown by emphazing any positive points while putting forward few negative points to give credibility. The opinion was too balanced.
Second, bringing number of hours in. This gives the impression of a professional, dedicated approach to testing a product. People cant support that, they want opinions from people who like it, have fun with it.
Testing requires to spend hours, having fun does not.
Got a free key, played 10 hours (how can this guy believe he knows the game?), bashed aggressively the product etc

Politeness is a matter of code. The piece was midly informative. And people who like it and have fun with it resent informative bits as impolite.
Third point, the bit was also written in plain english. This left no room to escape the informative bits, it gave no exit door.

Which, as I see it, was exactly what felipepe did. Still he was banned.

It was too balanced and probably informative. The key was to praise loudly while notifying a few negative points to colour the whole with credibility. Nothing is perfect at first, it leaves room for listening to the customers that will lead the product to be even better.

I posted the "whole story" here
https://www.rpgwatch.com/forums/show…=37182&page=10
What little there is of it. Cleve explained his ban hammer at the bottom of it.
Pepe is a regular contributor to the Codex where Cleve has been active after he could take us and our harsh trolling no more.
I am curious of the discussion there about it. I can't see Cleve apologizing for anything.
On the other hand, I can actually understand the over reaction - he is trying to promote something and in his opinion that is what the forums are for. But again, its an overreaction because FP never said nothing no one else isn't already saying, and like Corwin, FP is the probably the wrong person to tick off because he is well known due to his book.

These last pages are hilarious. First Levs extremely weird comment, followed by people (including me) trying to understand if he's being serious or not and exactly what he means. In walks Chien and tries to give an explanation in his ordinary less than enlightened way, totally missing the fact that most people here seems to think Pepes opinions sounded pretty fair, thus totally contradicting himself on the way "that can be learned in this forum".
Lev, Chien, thank you. Don't ever leave, it would be a bummer if all the posters on the forum actually made sense.

No, I'm not in discussion about one particular person and one particular case. My post is about lack of moderation on forums. Which is commonly used by forum criminals.

Why would five people so interested in defending "poor lamb" against injustice?
Are they really interested in justice, or is it just another opportunity to say boo to someone who is somewhat above the rest?

I also thought we were talking about the banning of Felipepepe. I certainly don't agree with him on everything he does or says, but picturing him as a criminal on the internet is something else. I certainly don't think he is a criminal. Opiniated, yes, but that usually is not a reason to ban anyone (depending on the opinion).
As it comes across now, it is like he was banned for not being nice enough about the game.

Wizardry 7 was my favorite game about 20 years ago. It was on my top list for years, but that was way back in time. Now I play other games. Grimoire comes as I nice opportunity to refresh old memories. I don't know how many hours I can spend in game. I wonder if I can get as far as let's say 40 hours.

Cleve and Grimoire have completely lost credibility, and rightfully so. Grimoire and Grimoire sales must be very bad if Cleve is this desperate to suppress honest criticism.

Would be great if we could get this going for another 10 years
I hope for the ones who bought it that it is not the time it takes to release the "super" patch, or whatever it is called.

Would be nice to keep it as Grimoire thread and not a "oh look what Cleve have just said and done" thread. But then again, why not? As long as we are polite and try not to offend each other![]()

Since the thread left the Cleve topic to focus on the game itself I avoided commenting here: People seems to enjoy it genuinely and that is great. But, the sheer number of weird posts the aura of this game generates is something I cannot avoid to follow. From the Luj1 secret love for Moba to the Forum Internet Justice of this afternoon..
I even checked the previous posts of the guy to see if he was prone to irony or sarcasm. I must confess than we cannot accuse him of either.
