Fallout 4 - Creation Club now live
August 29th, 2017, 20:25
The Creation Club for Fallout 4 mods is now live - first Steam reactions are not so positive:
Fallout 4 Creation Club Now LiveMore information.
Now there’s even more to see, more to do – and more ways to survive in Fallout 4. Creation Club is now in PC beta with a collection of new official content including Hellfire Power Armor, a Prototype Gauss Rifle, and Chinese Stealth Armor. You can even space out in a special suit inspired by Prey… or gallop through the Wasteland in Giddyup-Buttercup inspired Horse Armor.
For details on the Beta and the game's 1.10 udpate, head here.
Featuring new items, abilities and gameplay created by Bethesda Games Studios and outside development partners – including the best community creators – Creation Club content is fully curated and compatible with the main game, official add-ons, and achievements. Currently available for Fallout 4, Creation Club will be coming to Skyrim Special Edition next month. All Creation Club content works on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. And of course, Mods will remain a free and open system where anyone can create and share what they’d like.
To celebrate the launch of Creation Club, Bethesda is offering all players 100 Credits to apply to Creation Club content. Additional Credits are available on PSN, Xbox Live and Steam. Your Credits will be transferrable and can be used in both Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition on the same platform for both Xbox Live and Steam. PSN does not support transferable credits between both games.

No more Bethesda games for me.
I just don't like the practice of them getting a cut of other people hard work at fixing their games.

The first 2 have a hard limitation at 1 and 5 Gb for mods which is ridiculous for some mods.

This is Horse Armor 2.0, but the super enhanced version…check out this video by a popular youtube gamer who has admitted he is a Bethesda fanboy, but as this rant shows, even he can't stomach how bad this really is…

Well to be fair, making sure simple armor mods work in their games, is best we can expect from their QA.
After Skyrim/Fallout 4, even without all this, staying away from Bethesda games though.
Too many high quality games out there, to put up with all the work you have to go through to turn their games into something decent.

I'm not completely writing off Bethesda yet, they might put out a game I become very interested in sometime in the future, but if they try and stop free modding in order to try and force gamers to use this absurd, money-grubbing creation club, then yea, I would no longer be buying any of their games, in that case. I think creation club is doomed to failure, otherwise, with free mods around.

I know Bethesda is a favorite punching bag around here, but I generally like their games. This type of business practice, however, really turns me off. To hell with paid mods. Unless Bethesda puts out some amazing game I just can't live without, I'm done with Bethesda.

Well the content looks decent enough. I mean I wouldn't be complaining if I found this content in the game. I'm not sure I'd pay for it though. Improvements in the gaming experience would be preferable.

Well everyone knows I like some of the Beth games but I am strongly against this. The download should be optional so that the 2GB install for the CC is something you can opt in for like DLC but if you are not interested don't have to install.
Also seems to be messing up some peoples mods and graphic presets although so far my game has been fine. I don't use a lot of large mods or anything that requires F4SE though.
Smells more of suits though and tend to blame them and not those who work for the company and made a great game.

Hmm….
The idea of ongoing monetary support to promote replayability, and new things is not a bad idea, and I think I support the idea. It encourages a developer to continue to improve a game…. This means maximising replayability.
The question is: "How much?"!!
If they can ask a reasonable price, it should be fine.
Too little, and they may as well not sell it, and too much and no one will buy.
But of course a reasonable price in the US versus in Cambodia, versus in india, versus in Germany may be a different matter, and one they should consider.

I have no interest in any of these things - I don't download mods for armor or weapons either so I'm certainly not going to pay for it.
The fact that there's another form of Itchy and Scratchy money in existence annoys me though. If I was going to buy something I'd like to pay ONLY THE AMOUNT REQUIRED for the stuff I want!
If I were to buy stuff the only kind of thing I would be tempted with would be extra quests and locations, and it seems the Creation Club's first round isn't anywhere near there.
As it is I expect some people would be annoyed that the Season Pass, which when it came out said something along the lines of "includes all add-ons we make for the game" won't also include all Creation Club content, and it's actually a very good point. I don't know what the original wording was as the Season Pass page on Steam now lists all the DLC it includes.

If you want to know the prices look at the video. A weapon or an armour are priced 4-5$.

The FO4 and Skyrim mod scene was pretty healthy and active without paid mods to begin with surely?
This 'Creation Club' smells like an attempt to carve off people's work for corporate gain.
