What games are you playing now?
August 30th, 2017, 22:39
I haven't been playing much, but when I have been it's mostly been Darkest Dungeon. It's both addictive and frustrating. I can't see myself spending a huge amount of time on it (I'm not that much of a masochist), but I've already got my moneys worth.
Edit: oh, and still slowly chugging through Dungeon Lords with a friend. One session a week, so it's lasting a while. We're way past where I got to way back when.
Nice to see they've fixed some issues (e.g. you can now return to the Shadow Ruins if you leave them early; rooms have furniture!!!; etc), but some parts still seem unfinished after all this time (e.g. basic stuff like some main quests don't appear in your quest log, leaving you wondering what the fuck you're meant to be doing; some parts of the mini map are still incorrect; etc).
It's still not a good game, but we're getting some fun out of it.

I am trying in vain to finish my backlog which has gotten rather high of late. I have finished Aarklash Legacy and The Bard's Tale (2004) just recently. Aarklash clocked in at 15 hours to complete, so not much value there. The puzzles in that game started to grate on me after a while, the combat was the best part being a goodish implementation of rtwp while the story was utter tripe and the characters ridiculous cliche.
The Bard's Tale proved more substantial at 40 hours and was reasonably entertaining. A little annoyed at the save points which meant I had to replay some content again and again but it wasn't too bad really. Next up is Bastion.

Getting close to finishing Divinity Original sin EE. I nearly completed the original version, but managed to have a game breaking bug that I couldn't finish the game, at the time they had just released the EE edition so was more than happy to replay again, I have clocked up another 200+hrs and loving every minute of it, but need to get it finished ready for Original sin 2 which I have in early access. I have not played it at all as I want the whole completed game experience (from what iv'e heard its awesome)

Played the Destiny 2 beta for a bit. Must admit it's pretty good in terms of core feel and gameplay. Extremely smooth and very pretty.
Hard to tell about depth - as the beta has no progression. The items do seem reasonably varied - but I don't know.
However, I think it might be better than I suspected.
Have only dabbled in War of the Chosen - but it seems ok.

It has better puzzles esp later on in the game and the tombs are more interesting (last game really didn't have tombs). I should finish this weekend or early next week. It is also a lot longer. Overall I would say this game is a significant improvement over the previous game but it is also a wee bit too long and starting to get old.

I'm dabbling into Torchlight. No question why it was so popular : It's basically a more comic-like version of Blizzard's first Action-RPG.

Started Witcher 1 again, and this time I aim to finish the series (still haven't finished Witcher 3 - yes I am deeply ashamed). Currently also re-reading the books. And CDPR just dropped an amazing trailer that really lit a fire under my ass.

That was amazing indeed! I wish we will get W4 one day or at least a game set in that world.

I've been playing War of the Chosen the past few days.
It's pretty good, so far - but I can't say I agree with those who claim it's "almost" a new game - or an X-Com 3.
I mean, there are many smaller changes - and the Chosen themselves are a nice addition, but I have to say I think it feels much like the same old X-Com 2.
The best part, so far, would be the new "Covert Action" system - which adds a new layer to the strategic campaign.
I still don't think it feels like a proper strategy game (at all) - and it's still very board-gamey in that way. But the changes mean that decisions aren't quite as straight-forward as they were - and I sometimes find myself wondering what to do, which never happened in the vanilla version.
Overall, it's a decent expansion - but not much more than that.

Not much gaming this week as there's a massive hurricane heading directly towards this area. I doubt I'll be doing any gaming at all this weekend as there's a good chance we'll be without power for a few days.
I did spend a little time trying Daggerfall Unity though. It seems to have a huge amount of potential, but there's still a lot to do.
The entire map is present as are all the towns, dungeons, and NPCs. Most of the NPCs can't be interacted with yet though. Melee combat is implemented but not magic, and most of the weapon and item properties (weight, special effects, etc.) aren't in yet either.
It all looks really good though. Well, for being Daggerfall at least. Also, there seem to be quite a few mods in the works already. New models, graphical effects, etc.
Best of all though, it's obvious that this is a serious project that will actually get finished.

Stay safe, dude!
Also looks like you have your work cut out for you.
Hurricane-proof gaming shelter:
1) Dig a basement if your house does not already have one
2) Buy a diesel generator and enough fuel for about a week
3) Dedicate a room to supplies. Water, coke, cookies.
4) Play & LOL @ the stupid storm

Seen what's coming to your area and knowing for some reason USA still uses wood to build houses, I see no point of risking your life.

I thought I'd be playing D:OS2 tomorrow - for some reason, so sad that it's still a week away! Haven't been able to resist messing about though - tried the new (for me) intro with the ship, but basically messing about until release. I was going to go back to Expeditions: Viking (which I stopped some while ago) but can't summon the enthusiasm… c'mon Larian, release the bloody game!

I did get one too, seems legit, just an info before shipping.
Here's another example with happyshops:
