This game has a very steampunk Arcanum vibe.

Fast Tactics Combat System: Plan your attack in peace and then execute it in Real Time.
What in the &*%! is this supposed to mean? Can't you just tell us what type of system you're using?

I suppose it could be akin to simultaneous turn-based, but it sounds like Derp Time with Pause, unfortunately.

It could be the type where you plan all your groups actions at once while its paused, then unpause and it executes them.

A.K.A. the "WeGo" system, which I happen to enjoy. I seem to recall coming across something indicating this game was WeGo. Could be wrong. I'll try to find it again…

Edit: Seems I was wrong. Here is a description, which sounds more like RTwP. WeGo generally has a set amount of time for the "action phase," during which time you have no control of your people. This sounds like you can pause whenever you like, a la RTwP, with the added wrinkle of the box graphically showing planned actions and their times until completion.

I play a most excellent computer-based wargame (http://store.steampowered.com/app/33…ayers_Edition/) which utilizes a very similar combat system, the major difference being that in Red Storm you are managing military resources and have to worry about time and your overall command structure and flexibility as well. But if Empyre uses this as a system I have to say it will be very enjoyable to play. I am very much looking forward to this game. It really has an Arcanum feel to it.
