Man… Controls? Did they map backspace and ijkl by default or there is a proper scheme?

Taking a quick rest after a disastrous mission in Battletech, learned a few lessons. I won the mission, but 2 pilots died (no sweat, pilots are easily replaceable), but 2 mechs went down (lots of sweat, mechs cost a lot to repair but more importantly, takes a long time to repair). So mission paid 300K credits, but my lance is now down for 2 months for repairs, having to pay $250K/month in maintenance, loans and salary means I lost 200k from the mission, not including the cost of repairing the mechs and rebuying lost parts. Granted I can sell some of the salvage, but not sure if the 2 months the game will advance has any effect (like, will something happen at certain date that I need to be powerful enough or something?).
Well, lesson learned, when the mission says there will be heavy opposition… believe it!

I seem to be breezing through for now. I'm starting my next story mission which is house decimis or something like that…
I've not had more than two wounds on my pilots and my mechs have mostly been fine.
I tend to go very offensive with all my mechs sacrificing some movement and armour for it.
So I tend to be able to kill any one enemy mech within one round or two if heavily armoured. I am using a wolverine, trebuchet, centurion and one more I just got and forgot the name of.

My lance was 4 medium mechs (my 2 light ones were in repair), the enemy was one heavy, 1 medium, 2 lights, and 3 tanks.

Still romping through Avernum three, spent the last two days acquiring all the intel necessary to destroy the golems and their respective factory. Smashing golems and their items is just as every bit delightful as it was that first time many years ago, die golems die!!!~

1. Ensure you refit your mechs to have more armour in the front (they should never be attacked from the back - if they are you're making tactical mistakes).
2. Try and specialise your mechs. For example, I have one super long range mech with LRMs and L Laser and then I have one Mech with SRMs, M Laser and AC/5.
3. Look at the standard mech model, but you don't need to keep to it. If a Mech has very strong Melee, then it might be worth outfitting them as short rangers with M Lasers and SRMs as well as with a MG/S Laser and try and get in close
4. In combat try to focus the enemy with the most dangerous weapons first. Locusts and Spiders are annoying but they are unlikely to kill your Medium Mechs.
5. Ensure you use the Precision strike ability. It does not only allow you to choose what to target, but it also provides aim bonuses.

Still playing fallout 3 - reached level 10 !! Either I'm missing a lot of small quests or the game is quest light up to rivet city (just reach the moat to the city but havent' found the way in yet). I'm playing on hard (did the first 3 level on normal and decided that was too easy). Hum. Biggest complaint (other than quest light) is very difficult to find items (like books). I mean they can be right in front of me but they dont' really stand out from the junk - they need more colour or something.

Edit: I restarted the mission and still had to eject two of my pilots.
I think I may need to build up my arsenal on a couple more side missions before gonig for the next main mission.

I re-discovered King's Bounty The Legend & Armored Princess again … wasted 2 full days of my vacation for that …

Played some more God of War. Man, it keeps impressing with the amount of content they have. Also, the areas are just gorgeous. And very imaginative. At one point you explore a ruined little village that was destroyed when an Ice Giant fell upon it, and you work your way around his huge corpose. As Kratos you're even smaller than the giant's thumb. Really cool perspective work they've done.
Combat is as satisfying as ever. They even have some combat arenas where the rules of combat are changed, with pretty interesting rules. It's a way to have random fighting with little narrative purpose, except to get some more resources to craft your gear. Also killed my first Valkyrie. Hardest fight in a long time.

Whenever I replay the King's Bounty games, I play them in order so they just get better and better as I go along. After reading this, I may have to dust them all off again, and soon!

Well, at my first attempt I was almost through The Legend, but I liked Armored Princess somewhat more … I can't nail down why.

I think it's pretty obvious, each game is just a bit more refined than the previous, and has more options. At least that's how I see them, as an entire body of work they are quite excellent.

What I also like about these two games is that they don't look dirty and don't have muted colours like so many other games. A lone light within a sea of "heavymetalised" games.

With Avernum three done, I fired up Azure Saga: Pathfinder this morning, I've only played an hour so far, and I'm liking it. The style reminds me of Battle Chasers, but with more of a science fiction flavour.

I've been playing a game called Tokaido - it's a digital version of a physical board game.
The goal of the game is to visit as many locations and experience different things (collect souvenir, eat yummy gourmet food, enjoy hot springs or even paint the scenery of the location you visit). Each character has different traits (e.g. one girl is offered a free meal at the inn, while the other one gets a cheaper item for free if you buy a souvenir from the shop) so you need to have some sort of a strategy to win the game. Very good fun when you don't much time to play, love the gorgeous art style as well

I've been playing Battletech. I am really enjoying it.
I do not know if its a repayable game as it is somewhat focused on the story but I think it is a lot of fun.
I may try again at some point in the future if it gets modded but I don't know if there's any mod support…
