Queen's Wish - Last Days
June 27th, 2018, 12:48
Queen's Wish has a couple of days to go for crowdfunding and is currently pursuing the 100K stretch goal, which would unlock a professional for sound design.
Our Kickstarter for Queen's Wish: The Conqueror is entering its final week, and we are enormously grateful for the support everyone has given. It is succeeding beyond anything we expected.More information.
We are very close to getting to our next Stretch Goal: Hiring a professional for sound design. I really hope we get there. It's something we've always wanted to try.
As for the final Stretch Goal, Android support, I sort of doubt we will make it there. That doesn't mean an Android port is impossible. We're doing some research to figure out a way we could do it responsibly. No promises, but even if we don't make that goal, it might be possible. If there is ever an Android port, all backers will get it.
And what are we doing? Honestly, for the last few weeks, we've been working on Queen's Wish. We've never been good at PR and marketing. We just love to write games. That's what we're doing, to make sure you don't have to wait too long for the game you backed.
Finally, we just got in some more art, portraits for Queen's Wish. Enjoy, thank you, and you'll be hearing from us again in a week.

I'm still hopeful for a great game from this, but if I met Vogel face to face I would flat-out tell him that he squandered a great chance with this kick starter, and who knows if that opportunity will ever come around again. Sometimes you only get one shot, and in those situations, you don't want to appear lackluster or lazy, as faith is easily lost and difficult to recapture.

HE TriPLED THE MONEY!!!! Just as I predicted, OooOOoOOoOhhh. Libation.. Libation! At least we are left completely unable to accuse Jeff that he doesn't deliver. Lots of games under his belt.

Looks good to me, but I'm just thrilled for a new IP. I wasn't expecting Vogel to branch out into something radically different.

Really hope that he gets the 100k goal to finally get some decent sound. Graphics were never really an issue imho…though the new ones look worse.

If the majority of these acquired funds are wasted on sheer audio upgrades, well, that would be a huge travesty.

I honestly didn't see any reason to back this. This was basically a pre-order campaign wrapped in a Kickstarter outfit. It seems to have worked though so congrats to Jeff for pulling it off.

Not sure if visuals in his games are even downgradable. We're talking about mini-pixels here.

Of course, that all a matter of taste, and while I've never let sounds in a game deter me, there is a big difference between professional sound effects and indie ones, and stuff like that adds to a game's atmosphere. Since he initially said he didn't want more than 75k, because he had no plans to expand the game any further, I think its a pretty good investment. After all he wasn't going to add more content or art. He was pretty up front about that. The initial 25k was pretty much set aside for the artists.

I don't know what people were expecting from Vogel - he does what he does and does it well. I can say I was hoping for something more advanced, but am certainly not surprised by what he's doing.
At the same time, I'm amazed that he's at almost 100K, like tripling his original goal.

We can only imagine what funds he would have obtained had this been an attempt at really changing and upgrading the entire platform of the game. For all the talk and hype before the launch of the kick starter, I was anticipating so much more.

The new art is pretty nice - the portraits have plenty of character.
I loved Avernum but didn't like Avadon so much. If the game looks like my kinda thing on release I'll buy it, but I'm not backing it at this point.
