Default Cyberpunk 2077 - Mike Pondsmith Interview

July 7th, 2018, 10:32
Mike Pondsmith was interviewed about Cyberpunk 2077 by LastKnownMeal. You might also want to check out some information on the class system from Gamingbolt.

Today we have one and only, Mr. Mike Pondsmith, the creator of Cyberpunk 2020 talk about the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, Cyberpunk as a genre, The Witcher Tabletop RPG and so much more.

I want to personally thank Mr. Mike Pondsmith for coming and Mrs. Lisa Pondsmith for setting everything up.

Max Pears, Level Designer on Cyberpunk 2077, spoke about this system in an interview with ShackNews, and went into some interesting details, going on to give examples for what sort of stuff this system will allow you to do and what kinds of opportunities it will open up. “We have this really cool class system,” Pears said, “where we have things like Netrunner, Techie, and Solo, but what we do is we’ve got this fluid class system. Each of these is gonna have different abilities. So a Netrunner can hack into people’s brains, [like] in the [E3 2018] demo.”

Good video interview with Mr. Mike Pondsmith. You can tell he's very passionate about his game. Seems I have to put my faith in other RPG studios beside BioWare nowadays.

It's funny they're interviewing this guy all the time, instead of the developers themselves

Then again, that voice……

You mean the cool voice? Based on the other Cyberpunk thread.

One more video for that cool factor.

Pretty bad interview on the other end, but Pondsmith saved it. Sadly, no real new information.

Yeah, he should be doing the narration for the game - Harrison Ford style.

Also, I'm the weird guy who likes the Blade Runner voice-over

Yeah, that is weird.

That Pondsmith guy does have a great voice, though. He should voice act for one of the characters.

We have gazillions of Cyberpunk 2077 interviews and not one gameplay video from the closed E3 demo…

It was a CLOSED demo. There should be no footage, they were not allowed to disclose recorded media. Rooting for a leak is just wrong; please keep the stream of interviews.

That's because every journalist has to sign the usual NDA, and if you leak any footage you would be blacklisted in the industry. Just look at the man who leaked the audio.

Who said I am rooting for anything wrong or illegal? Where did I write that? When I say there's no vídeo from the closed demo, I am just hoping CD Projekt Red could, themselves, disclose the vídeo (or parts of).

Never said you did I even shared the audio.
Speaking to Kotaku’s Jason Schreier, CD Projekt co-CEO Marcin Iwiński said that the Cyberpunk 2077 demo is a real slice of gameplay rather than a separate project. The entire Cyberpunk team focused on making assets for the demo, and that will eventually be used in the completed game.

“From what I’ve heard, some companies have separate teams that work on E3 demos and stuff like that; we don’t do it this way,” Iwiński said in the interview for Kotaku's Splitscreen podcast. “Maybe it’s better or worse, but for us it’s a cool milestone. We obviously branch out to get it done, but [building the demo] is moving the whole game forward.”

“It’s surprisingly a real build, so we didn’t fake anything here,” he said, explaining to Schreier that they’re using the “same RED Engine” they used for The Witcher 3, but “with 90 percent of it rewritten.”

“We didn’t start these conversations, but we got a lot of feedback like that in the previews, people actually noticing that certain things just look natural, they don’t look pre-rendered or fake,” he said. “This makes us very happy, and very proud, because we’ve actually managed to pull it off, to take a build.”
Just wanted to show why we will not see game footage of the closed demo. CD Projekt did say the game is not ready for public viewing, and is basically in an early Alpha state.

Couchpotato, though my previous post came after yours, I wasn't referring to you, as you can see by the words I chose. Excuse me.
