Meh.
Grandia 2 needs a remake - newly recorded music (same scores ofc, you've heard Stemage's outstanding covers for a few), modern visuals and removal of outdated rubbish like checkpoints.
Grandia 1… I'm not sure if it's worth bothering with.

I really liked these games in the past, already have Grandia the second so I'll likely pick this one up at some point.

I used to own every Grandia games on consoles but sold everyone one of them for cash when I needed it. So I'll glad re-buy them but I'm worried about the keyboard controls.

That is a legitimate concerns, I too will hope for a clear and concise port. The Grandia two port is pretty decent.

You just use a mapping program like XPadder or Joy2Key to make the game think your controller is the keyboard.
So stop whining.

So no K&M controls are a staple of PC gaming if you can't port them correctly then don't bother porting a game. It's a lesson Japanese developers haven't learned yet.
I recently played Star Ocean though and it doesn't have no K&M problems. The mapping is done correctly, and it's easy to move and navigate menus.

I still own the original Grandia for PS1. I remember grinding out the spells to make them as powerful as possible for the sake of completion. If I play this HD remake, I certainly won't be doing that again.

I didn't realize Grandia II was already available on the PC. Back in the day, good PC RPGs were few and far between, and I turned to consoles out of sheer boredom. Grandia 2 was my favorite RPG on the Dreamcast, albeit a little too cutesy for my taste… don't let your friends see you playing it. Ha.
