If you come across any you'd recommend, please post about them somewhere. I'm just finishing the Aielund Saga which is great, after which I'm going to try Darkness over Daggerford EE (which I haven't played before).

Are you already in chapter 4?

Nearing the end of Act 3, so "just finishing" was a bit of an exaggeration. Enjoying the story twists and the way it reintroduces characters from earlier acts.

Thanks for the list CP - fantastic! That's the next five years of my life sorted!

In between waiting for the Kingmaker DLC in April I want to play an NWN module. Was thinking Aielund Saga or Tortured Hearts. Which one should I play?

I can't comment on Tortured Hearts (it's on my list too!), but the Aielund Saga is great. Purpleblob's review is worth a read, it gives a good flavour of it:

Thanks, I read it. Good review blobby! I think I'll play that while waiting for the Feb and April DLC for Kingmaker once I finish my current run (should finish before January I think, waiting on the Dec 6 DLC now).

I've played the Aielund Saga to many times to count. From it's very first release to it's last version, and it's still one of the best mod campaigns to play till date.

Other mods that come close.

Bastard of Kosigan - http://neverwintervault.org/project/…nglish-version
Knights of the Holy Grail - http://neverwintervault.org/project/…timate-edition
Vis et Virtus Series - http://neverwintervault.org/project/…irtus-prologue
Runes of Blood - http://neverwintervault.org/project/…le/runes-blood
Lords of Darkness Series - http://neverwintervault.org/project/…1-fugitive-v30
Dragon Dominant - http://neverwintervault.org/project/…ragon-dominant

Prophet Series - http://neverwintervault.org/project/…nnot-be-denied

Almraiven / Shadewood are two great modules I can't recommend enough if you really want to feel like a Necromancer. The 3rd / final part is supposedly still in development.

Bone Kenning is another very interesting take on necromancy.

I will say, at $9, the base price is better than it is for PC (at regular price) but its still too high - especially for a beta even if it will include the stable release version.
OK, I just started Chapter 2, and finished pretty much everything in Chapter 1 (side-quests, optional stuff, all henchmen, etc.).

And you know what - it actually works!

Sure the controls are a bit wonky - first this is android, which is inherently less efficient as a tablet OS than iOS … and I alway find those ‘virtual joystick’ systems a bit clunky.

But they put a big pause button next to the quick slots bar, which is very helpful in terms of size and location.

They also use ‘long press’ as a right-click substitute, which isn’t as good as ‘force touch’ on iOS but works pretty well. After a short time, disabling traps and unlocking chests happens very quickly.

The game has already seen two or three patches since release, which then require additional downloads upon launching the game after a patch to update all the ‘bif’ files. The initial release was quite buggy, but since the first patch I haven’t had a crash or other problem worth noting. Well … occasionally it gets a bit laggy in terms of responding to controls and then I’m walking into a wall

Pleasantly surprised, really. Especially since I have now played more of NWN:EE on a tablet than BG:EE, BG2:EE, IWD:EE and PST:EE combined! Only KOTOR have I actually completed on a tablet (and only once!)

I'm a broken record on this but try my game The Girl in Ill Humour

https://neverwintervault.org/project…irl-ill-humour

No haks needed - its all scripted.

I will take a look soon to make sure its NWN:EE compatible. I should also look at publishing my college team project to the Vault as well as my Star Trek mod and my addition to the DM wand: dropping a house on a player.

How about multiplayer? I can't see pause being useful for that. But its good there's at least some optimization for Android. Its worked on it with quite a bit of manipulation almost from the start.

Supposed it would be fun to play it on a tablet. Phone would just be too small.

Interesting. What model tablet you playing on?

I think I read it was planned but user content wasn't quite there yet… Is that correct do you know? Am thinking of modules/adventures rather than gameplay or visual mods.

Thanks

The controls for NWN are a bit wonky to begin with. The player character moves like a damn tank.

Mot sure about the user content timeline - have read about it but pretty sure it isn't there yet.

I am playing on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, which is the pinnacle of Android tablets at the moment.

True - though interestingly after the first patch the game starting accepting input from my 'smart keyboard' attached to the tablet … and I have a bluetooth mouse set up to use with the 'Linux on DeX' environment (yes, full Ubuntu) … so suddenly I am playing mouse & keyboard. Imperfect, but better than the fiddly touchscreen.
