Pillars of Eternity II - The Accidental Turn Based Occurrence
Pillars of Eternity II - The Accidental Turn Based Occurrence

I don't get some people's fascination with wanting everything to be turn-based.
Personally, I think we have enough quality TB games out there to not need to shoehorn it into more of them.

It's a leak that's all. Someone probably wanted to see player feedback. Now if this is added an optional combat pick when starting a new then fine, but I still prefer RTwP.

For the love of God no turn base in this one.How can i solo it then?
On a serious note maybe is a step tied with console release in mind?

If they had turn-based combat in this game, I would have picked it up a long time ago. As it is, I probably won't get it…until I'm drunk during a Steam sale. …Though arguably, that could be any day now.

I like TB, but I think the game has to be designed that way from beginning. With PoE encounter design, cannot imagine myself playing it fully in TB. Perhaps would turn it on for particular battles, but thats it.

The next step.
No audience for RTwP products, product should have been designed for UgoIgo players in the first place.
Result: this is not a decent RTwP game and UgoIgo players can not step up to grow the skillsets to play RTwP.

I won't go into the discussion about weither pausing frequently is the "wrong" way to play RTwP since we've had that one before and obviously disagree, I'm honestly just curious if there actually are people playing the game with few pauses even in tougher battles.

Very different from pausing every time to place every single input.
Watched a female streamer the other day playing Baldur Gate: she played RTwP and in a few battles, she did not pause once.
A number of streamers also play Rimworld real time no pause (their hook) even though in Rimworld, combat is not a primary feature so the UI if sufficient is not up to what is found in Tyranny for example.
