Hoping for some DS clones.

Pfft not me hate Dark Souls and it's various clones.

There are many different ways to think about how to make games and what they should give people, and certainly, there are many who think games should have broad appeal and please everyone regardless of skill level and effort. Of course, those games are perfectly valid, but what I like making and want to do is perhaps a bit more niche. Some will like it, and some wont. I'm making games for people who love this kind of thing. Of course, it would be great if many loved what I make, but even if there are many who aren't big fans of this kind of approach, it's still what I enjoy making.

Count me as one who hates this kind of approach.

Wow trash talk over a game ?

Trash talk nope it's called fun banter. We usually do this on the various Dark Soul games & it's clone inspired game threads. Believe it's been going on for years.

I at least will never stop as I hate the formula and he loves it.

If only they would add proper coop so I could actually enjoy these endless samey grinders

I reckon it has to be Armoured Core and Kings Field.

AC is their main mech sim. (Chromehounds was good but an Xbox360 exclusive.)
Kings Field is their first series of games.

Tenchu is too similar to Sekiro with its eastern style, but the fact that they didn't call Sekiro Tenchu says to me they'll be looking to make a very stealth heavy Tenchu at some point.

I think Kings Field gives them a chance to do a Souls game with shiny weapons and high fantasy tropes in place of the "Make everything look like its been laying around for 1000 years" style of artwork in DS.

Good news, I don't have much interest in Sekiro but I'd love another Dark Souls type game.

Hopefully they won't be PS exclusives though - I still haven't played Bloodborne for that reason.

You're missing out. Bloodborne is the best in the "series" imo, closely followed by DS1.

Yeah I've heard that from a few people and can well believe it. I don't think I can justify buying a PS4 just to play one game though. But maybe when the next gen comes out and the PS4 prices drop.

Space souls? I hope its space souls!

I'd really be keen on a project that followed the Kings Field series, if it also would come to computers. Those games were pretty good for the original play station, back a few years ago.

Yep, just some good natured ribbing. Dark souls is kind of a love it or hate it formula and I’m quite looking forward to cyberpunk actually.

While still not “proper co-op” you can play the whole game with a friend now, DS3 anyway. You just have to spawn back in after every boss fight.

I would love another King's Field but with Dark Souls style fighting.

I can't see them returning to King's Field after all these years, but it would be fantastic if that turns out to be the case.

I'm hoping one will be Bloodborne II for the PS5 launch.

Currently playing Dark Souls III, and really not impressed and feels to lag behind Demon Souls and Dark Souls II from the connectivity, lore and world cohesion in general (Dark Souls I is just a delibrate hard grindfest version of Demon Souls).

Hope that they do something innovate for a change.

They are innovating, its called seikiro. Also its 2 unannounced games. Hopefully 1 of them will stick to the souls formula.

I think the 3rd one has the best combat but is probably the least creative. It lacks the secrets and mystery the earlier games had. Add back in secrets like the painted world, dark anor London, secret walls, parasite head, etc. and maybe improve the npc quest lines.

Small tweaks no major changes needed imo. Save that for the other titles.
