Almost forgot Iron Eagle. Great movie if you're 13, love fighter jets, and a great soundtrack.
Could only find a really bad 30 sec trailer on Youtube

I'd forgotten that one - tremendous 80s energy there. Great track, too - you just don't get a saxophone solo anymore!

The saxophone was definitely a staple instrument of the sixties, seventies, and eighties. If I remember correctly, I think the Lost Boys film had a song featuring heavy sax tones also. Plenty of artists/bands made great use of that instrument but nowadays it's pretty rare to see it utilized.

That was actually a remake of a tune by The Call done by Tim Cappello. He's the body builder sax player and he's done spots in other songs.

I can't believe that nobody's mentioned Sixteen Candles. The pinnacle of all those classic John Hughes movies? Y'all should be ashamed.

Gimme a break, it's you who should be ashamed for not mentioning:

A reasonable accusation. Truth be told, although I'm obviously of avid Muppet nut, I didn't enjoy their movies nearly as much as the show, outside of the first one.
