It's not a movie, it's an anime and japan anime game adaptions are usually good, even great in some cases, like the base Fate/Stay Night series. Castlevenia on Netflix is apparently great too, but I haven't looked at it yet.

Also, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is the best video game movie ever.

The game in the title and it's adaptation is not going to be a movie. But series.

Games2movies on the other hand… I loved Final Fantasy: Spirits Within and never cared for mainstream's not understanding it. Then again, I didn't like some of FF games, maybe that's the reason?
Can't be as IMO Assassin Creed movie was very good and I liked almost all of those games. Interestingly, I hate the sequel mainsteream adored and never recommend it to anyone - AC4.

Movies2games… Not all suck. Indiana Jones adventure back in the day was awsome for example.

As in all business out there it all depends on decisionmakers. If a project leader does it from love, it'll be good. If a project leader's plan is milking a proven hit without understanding why it was a hit in the first place, then we get some cheap rubbish.

I would completely agree about Doctor Who throwing away good stories that they were known for in the past and trying instead to foist some agenda on their viewers. Not sure if I'll continue to watch the programme, to be honest.

Decent movie. Princess Mononoke was better.

I've heard that. I have been meaning to give that one a whirl. I'll bump it up my list.

I had to stop after 4 episodes. I'll check in again next season to see if they have come to their senses.

I did enjoy Princess Mononoke. Naturally it culminates with an enraged tentacle monster, as is required by the Japanese board of film certification, but I thought it was pretty good.

Mononoke is overrated rubbish. Skippit.

But again. Dragon Dogma will *not* be a movie like Mononoke. It will be anime series like Tales of Zestiria. Or like some Nintendo whatnot titled Persona.
