Borderlands 3 - Everything we know so far
March 30th, 2019, 16:55
PC Gamer has collected information about Borderlands 3:
More information.
Borderlands 3: Everything we know so farThanks Sztaszov!
It's official. Here's everything we know about Borderlands 3's release date, setting, characters, and more.
Borderlands 3 was one of the worst-kept secrets in videogames, but as of the Gearbox panel at PAX East 2019, it's not a secret at all.

The announcement trailer is pretty dense. It's a whirlwind tour of the game's new and returning characters, new planets and a tiny slice of the billion guns that can potentially be conjured up. Gearbox says it will reveal more details on April 3, but in the meantime there's a lot that we can glean from the trailer.
If you haven't watched it yet, or maybe you just want a refresher, take a look at the trailer above. With that done, let's pick it apart.
What is the Borderlands 3 release date?
There's no official release date, but an earnings call from 2K owner Take-Two points to a possible release before fall 2019, and a hint in the reveal trailer may point to October of this year. Gearbox will announce the date formally on April 3.

As I said on the forum thread looks to be just more of the same.

That's what I was thinking when I saw the trailer. I would have put money on showcasing new environments as priority to them but it really looked the exact same. Even if there is sprawling, unfamiliar areas the fact they showcased more-of-the-same in the trailer is still worrying. That being said, Borderlands 2 is a Legendary status game, so I must afford them confidence for now.

Yeah, I'm pretty bored of the "Oh what a funny dystopia" theme, at this stage.

Loved Borderlands 1 but by the end I was done. Pretty much a light snack. Is #2 significantly different than #1?

I thought that 2 was a lot better and the dlc were really good ('cept one of them but i can't remember which one kind of sucked). I wouldn't mind a refinement of 2 if the story and presentation are good but i have no clue if borderland 3 will be that beast.

I have a lot of love for the Borderlands series. I'll be buying this, playing this, and shooting midgets. Bajillions of guns for bajillions of midgets. Yeah.

All I know is that Ice-T is rumored to being doing voice work for the game:

Like others here, I enjoyed the first game but wasn't compelled to try the second. I'll likely skip this one as well.

I didn't mind the first game but have yet to complete the second. It just felt quite dull and repetitive after awhile. I'm a little surprised to see a third game in the works in all honesty but I think I've had my dose of its particular derivative style.

The video did a good job making me want to play but never played the others as not really my style. But I have friends who love it and are very excited. Maybe I will eventually try it - but one issue with sequels is I feel I should go back and play the previous … which I have little time or interest for.

Seems Borderlands is getting remastered based on the video.

Color me surprised as well. I don't get the apparent popularity of these games.

I'd no idea there had been a prequel in this series, and yeah, like others the apparent popularity of this series astounds me. Then again, I only did buy and play the first game.
