Cyberpunk 2077 - In Advanced Stages
April 5th, 2019, 12:21
Hitc reports that Cyberpunk 2077 is in the advanced stages of development. While Twinfinite reports that this years E3 will be the most important ever for CD Projekt RED.
More information.
Speaking at the company's 2018 financial results presentation, CD Projekt RED's President and joint CEO Adam Kiciński said "this year's [E3] is going to be the most important one ever for us. We have really prepared a strong show." Discussing Cyberpunk 2077, Kiciński mentioned that it's in an advanced state, that it won't be swayed by recent trends in gaming (meaning no Battle Royale mode), and that it could be cross-gen if the opportunity arises.

"Most important year" is an obvious hint on the game release.
Being silent about exact date however affects The Outer Worlds - noone wants to be released at the same time as CP2077. Except maybe Square Enix releases Tomb Raider 4 and fails again by not being careful with dates.

joxer, The Outer Worlds release somewhere in 2020, not 2019.
And I'm starting to suspect it will be pushed back anyway, they showed an unfinished sequences at PAX last week which suggest the rest of the game is even more unfinished.

I'm not really expecting a 2019 release for CP2077. The game is massive, I doubt we'll see it before 2020.
Maybe the company will announce their next game?

Outer Worlds was anounced for August yes. However, if Cyberpunk is announced for summer at E3, then I would shift the Outer Worlds to december if I were them (or next year just to be sure
).

Same thing I've been saying for months nothing new here.
Well it won't be a summer release as E3 is in June.Incoming release date foretasted to be given at E3.
It would make more sense to release on the holidays to maximize profits. Also current insider information thinks it will be re-released on the new consoles like GTA 5 was.
So it will be released on the PC, XBox One & PS4 possibly late 2019. Followed by a re-release on the newer consoles for 2020-2021. Don't know the console names yet.

Not bothered which releases first or at the same time. I'm buying both.

I made a reference to the Epic exclusive deal that add 12 months to the game release when ever that is.
I can't believe I had to explain that.

After reading this thread - I think there is a chance it will be released this year and a chance it will not be released this year.

Not that acting like another anti-Epic tard looks clever to begin with.

Well off-topic as others brought up Outer Worlds it seems the Epic exclusives don't need to be for 12 months. It's up to the publisher/developer so blame them not Epic.
Look at Borderlands 3 it's only on Epic for six months.
