Fallout: NV - Play After the End
April 9th, 2019, 13:13
@GameBuz A new mod for Fallout: New Vegas allows you to play after the end and experience the consequences of your actions.
I think it's pretty obvious that I have a lot of respect for modders and that they are the reason why I love PC gaming so much, so this one goes out to a modder called Kazopert. He made a mod that not only allows you to continue playing after the final battle, but the world also changes according to the choices you made.More information.
It impacts the NPCs you will see after the dust is settled, the voice lines of the remaining NPCs and other small details around the world that have an impact on immersion. The creator's description is pretty spot on with what you can expect.

Pretty sure that was the golden age of RPGs, at least for me. Mass Effect, DA, NV, all were within a few years. Other than The Witcher 3, RPGs just haven't been the same. They've either split into the 'classic' RPG format (isometric) or gone full-out shooter. The middle ground is gone.
Hopefully CDPR's game will scratch that itch again. It's hugely important that they are successful, not just for the company, but for the genre.

This would be very exciting if the game was stable enough for me to get to the end.

While this mod is more interesting another mod already did the same.

After killing Mr. House and seizing control of New Vegas, I never got the feeling of really being in charge of New Vegas. Sure the wildcard quests had you forming alliances and making preparations to kick the NCR and Legion out of the Mojave, but that's only part one of regime change for dummies. This mod aims at making New Vegas feel like a conquered yet still contested land ruled by the player.
Note that this mod is not triggered by any actions you take in game. Its fully active once you install it.
More features and bug fixes will come but not for awhile.
Features:
-Army of Lobotomites patroling the Mojave wishing for a nuclear winter.
-New structures added to the strip and freeside.
-Factories in North Freeside now have interiors.
-Worker and citizen npc's now present throughout the strip and freeside.
-Outposts set up in Goodsprings, Goodsprings Source, Primm, Grub-n-Gulp, Novac, and Sloan.
-Nine telescreens, activate them to read some nonsense.
-Collect profits from your Empire.
-Pay to train new imperial soldiers who will follow you into battle.

Personally I think to much procedural generated shovel-ware RPGs are being made.

I think that the kind of thing that Piranha Bytes is doing is in the right ballpark, though I don't think they've quite been hitting the right notes in recent times. I think there's huge potential for that style of 3d single player RPG.
