Yeah, I'm not a fan of some of the creepy sexual overtones/fetishes that I've run into with a few games/books. I think that ninety-nine percent of the time you could make your point without being so graphic.

No wonder the UK government wants to tax porn and create a database of watchers.

One one hand, I think it's unfortunate that games like this get funded (and funded well), mostly because I don't see the point. If someone is that desperate for a connection with someone, they need to make the effort to step away from the computer once in a while (which few people take responsibility for).
On the other hand, if it's fulfilling a harmless fetish fantasy, then I don't really care because it's, well, again, it's a harmless fantasy.
As long as it doesn't elevate to a state of obsession where it affects the person watching/viewing or those around them, then I think it's fine. But if this kind of thing isn't allowing you to have healthy relationships with anyone, there's a problem there.
There's a flip side to this though. Anyone funding this project is likely single anyway, and probably doesn't have children and/or won't have children in the future. As such, this makes them evolutionary failures. This should please you, Ripper.

Also, I don't know if this silly game is so bad in itself. It might be quite harmless. I was talking more about some of that concerning stuff on the forum mentioned earlier.

I don't like to view it from this lens though - I think there are too many factors in someone's life that affect habits and decision making. It's unfortunate people lean toward those tendencies, but I certainly don't think they're doomed.

Apologies for the confusion. I'm typing this from work and I'm not the best at multitasking. I should clarify - I have no problem with the game itself (though I still don't see the point). F95, however? Well, ignorance is bliss.

Generalization is a dangerous thing. There is no indication that the people who backed this are some sort of homogeneous group. It's not like porn is only watched by people who are single, or 50 shades of grey is only read by people who are single, so why would an erotic game only be played by people who are single?

I must be a prude as wellDoesn't matter if its a game, video, or writing when it comes to something like this - if someone gets off on that kind of thing it … well it says they like it. The fact that its a game/story/video versus the real thing doesn't change the fact that they find it sexually arousing and what they get themselves off to … it just means they can't get busted for it and, hopefully, no one else gets damaged by their freakish fetishes. Still seriously creepy.
During video games you consiously kill people, you conciously steal things, you conciously take all kind of drugs, both performane enhancing and recreational, you don't pay any tax, you buy and sell things without any form of trading licence or standards, you lie to people left right and center, and, oh my, I'm listing basically everything that is contained within any nations roll-call of illegal activities. But someone mentions sex? OMG SEX! sex sex sex sex sex sex sex sex sex sex. Let's flip our collective shits! Yes dear, your view is irrational in comparison to your own standards.
What do I think? I think it's a very tricky topic. While I agree that some intents in some games/mods are crossing the line sometimes, I also don't particularly want the daily conversation to devolve into a competition to see who can get offended about what next & therefore leave us with nothing but quasi-educational sims that force us to game in the exact societies in which we currently live, a circumstance that is as equally suffocating as extremes are eyerolling.

- Is human naked body something that needs to be removed from videogames (Dragon Age Origins)? Should a human body in videogames be degenerate and disproportional (Mass Effect Andromeda)? Or should it or parts of it be filtered (Sims)?
Ancient cultures thought a naked human body is art. I do so too. And so should videogames. Thus here's midfinger to Ubisoft's seashells.
- Sex in videogames yes or no?
No sex = no children (except laboratory but let's keep that aside), no children = noone to play games. Beside that, sex is fun. So IMO sex in games yes, close to real or silly pornlike, doesn't matter.
If major publishers weren't shy of adding these stuff in games, we wouldn't be seeing indie dating sims of different kinky kinds.
In other words, if a major publisher game boasts about some romance where I didn't see an "r" from so called romance then at least I want some indies about sex where I'll see all three letters. Why are we living in a world where modders have to add nudity, romances and sex? How about all of it being in all games with turn on/off switch? Or where conservative censor wannabe modders mask those for minorities who are panicking when they see any of it?
I see this project as a defiance that hurts only scammers, a defiance to current industry "standards". The money gathered will spawn a full product, that same money won't be used for some DLC/pay2win bullshit and as such, I'm gonna shill for this game wherever and whenever I can.

Heck I remember the 1980's when PG-13 movies were borderline R-Rated, and R-Rated movies were basically soft porn. Don't get me started on the NC-17 Rated movies.
Seems for all the talk about being more liberated nowadays seems we've become more conservative on other topics. Another catch 22 of puzzlement as the saying goes.
Also I still remember the media craze over Mass Effect and it's tame sex scenes.

Well Europe finds USA standards a bit odd esp with films; sex is off limit but you can shoot as many people as you want….

Does anyone remember that famous Super Bowel nipple slip from 2004?
My god think of the children.
Still yes it's weird how games allow you to graphically kill a fictional person any way you want to in gory detail, but a naked female it's the ends of the world I tell ya.
