I know a lot of people only know him from Blade Runner, but Rutger Hauer defined my youth. Movies like The Hitcher, Blind Fury, The Blood of Heroes and Ladyhawke will forever be a part of me. I will definitely miss him.

I first saw him in Bladerunner, but I will always think of him now in his various roles for Paul Verhoeven (who is 81!)

The Hitcher and Bladerunner are the films I'll remember him the most from. Without him in Ladyhawke, that movie would have had nothing memorable for me.

RIP Rutger.
He died the same year that his character dies in Blade Runner.

Good actor. I loved him in Ladyhawke. Him and Ferris Bueller did well.

How sad.
I hate to say it, but I had a strange feeling he would pass soon. Something about his voice in his most recent work seemed really off.

I always felt that Rutger was massively underused as an actor and should of been given more roles. The guy had a presence.

For some reason I keep mixing him with Klaus Kinski
