The Storm Guard: Darkness is Coming is the first game that I'm playing of the new year. I had a free hour to play this morning, and I'm looking forward to hopefully getting a chance to play some more later this week. I've been eyeing this game for quite some time, was lucky enough to get it as a birthday gift a few weeks ago, and I like what I've experienced so far.
The first game I played this year was Battle Brothers.

Morrowind, I think. I've been playing it since around mid December.
But it might have been Sekiro. I picked that back up this week after getting tired of the ass beatings back in April. Beat a couple more bosses, but I don't know whether it's in me to keep pushing through.

Red Dead Redemption 2. The antiheroes live in tents as a kind of gypsy clan and the antihero protagonist kills and skins all sorts of animals using various firearms and equipment quite rapidly and with great frequency and its kind of gory. Some of the animals are kind of cute. I suspect it is kind of symbolic in some way, representing the blood and cruelty that forms the hidden basis for civilisation, but then again I have listened to Dutch speak for hours, so that could just be Dutch talking. It is a great nature & hunter simulation, and you can go fishing and play poker too (with old gruff men in beards, strip poker it isn't. Yes I was disappointed too),
