Pledged. Considering how good Star Traders Frontiers is this is a No-brainer for me.

Yup, backed as well. Backed Star Traders as well, but didn't play it yet. One issue I have is also one of their strengths: They just keep updating the games…and I never know when it's finally time to actually play them.

I wish them luck but I don't see anything done better than any of the recent Shadowruns nor their lore. I am also getting a bit saturated with the significant amount of 'tactical' games produced over the last few years.

I've backed all of their prior games, but on this one I'm taking a pass. I'll likely pick it up in three to five years once all the updates/patches have landed, they seem to tweek their games quite a lot.

Actually, it sounds a lot more sophisticated:

Multi-stage missions with multiple ways of handling
Mission preplanning which greatly influences how you tackle mission and that can increase your odds of success
Many more mission types - theft, assassination, escort, bodyguard, etc.
Base building
Multi threaded stories

There's a lot going on here than a cursory review would reveal.

Yeah, that's true. I played Star Traders Frontiers a lot when it was pretty new, and then again a month ot so ago. I'd say it's in a really good state by now! I chose the Android version, and it's without a doubt the best game I've ever played on the phone.

Yeah, took about 12 hours. They set a pretty humble goal though.

Not possible. Sadly Chaos Rings 2 is not available on Android, but perhaps Sacred Odyssey: The Rise of Ayden still is. Try then tell me it's not better than any other phonegame.

As for any KS that is not strictly PC, sorry, no bonus.
I got lucky and most of KS projects I backed turned into good games. The "secret" is I've avoided any project that mentioned phones.
Now I did back two games that beside PC planned consoles, and both were turds. Earthlock and now Shenmue 3. Why? Both weren't designed for PC, but for outdated hardware then were ported to PC.
What I'm saying here is good luck. I'll buy the game if it turns out good, but back it's development, no, sorry, go ask Apple or Google to push it forward. Or, have to be evil, ask Huawei.

Anyone noticed they still have NOT finished Star Traders? They state there is still a lot of story content to be done:

While I loath the mobile game market in general (IAP and "F2P" are the worst things that ever happened to games) I'm always glad to support games that refuse to use that business model. Of course the games will be made for inferior hardware, but how good it looks has never been the most important thing to me.

And while my backlog on PC is huge I struggle to find anything worth playing on the phone, because 99% of all the games on Google Play are the aforementioned crap F2P scams.

To say the game is "unfinished" would be inaccurate and unfair. The game is finished and fully playable. I backed the game on KS and received everything that was promised in the campaign. However, they are known for constantly adding content to their games, even after they are "finished". That is what is happening now. So a better description is that they continue to add additional content beyond what was originally promised to their game.

Tbh this game looks very, very good compared to most video game Kickstarters out there. They've got good track records, the game looks already fairly advanced (not just a bunch of 3D models or Concept Art) and it's pretty cheap to boot at 15$.

Exactly! It was highly enjoyable at launch and felt complete. There's just even more of everything now…

It isn't jsut the amount of content they add - they seem to do a good job with what they add. Still i would have to think that star trader would see a lot less new content as they spin up this game but perhaps the team is larger than i think…

Yes, I've noticed that Star Traders isn't done, and doesn't appear close to being finished yet. Once you've seen the way they do their games, it makes sense, they keep tweeking and updating them for quite a bit, so there is no need to be first on that train. I'll say this much for them though, you always get your moneys' worth, and their games are well worth playing.

Again, saying the game isn't done or finished is very misleading. The game is done and finished. They delivered all they promised for the KS. You can play it perfectly fine right now. All they are doing now is giving you free additional content. Think of it as free upgrades and/or mini DLC. No one says that a game receiving DLC or additional content isn't finished.

To be fair, a lot of people DO say that. But when it's free it's seldom a problem.

Yeah, I don't mean it as necessarily a bad or wrong thing, I just personally prefer to enter a game when it's completely done and finished. I know plenty of folks that like the additional content as they chug through the game, and that's fine, the more people you can cater to the better the reception of your product.
