Looks like Phoenix Point.
A lot of watchers surely can't wait to vote it as RPG of the year 2020.

It doesn't. No bugs in it's presentation.
Can't agree on votes either. It's not a darksouls clone, it's not a platformer, it can't be played on Nintendo Gameboy, it's not a mmo with a lousy sp campaign and it's not a remake turned episodic. = no votes.

Doesn't appear to be a game for me and they doubled down by making it an exclusive for a platform that I don't use.

The game is clearly a mix between Mutant Year Zero and X-COM. Tactical combat, but less budget than X-COM. Has a better vibe than Phoenix Point. The story is a future Second Civil War with some future tech.
Nothing wrong with Epic Game Store, they are giving away some quality games. Tim Sweeney is definitely worth supporting.

Finished the first campain last night.
It's basically MutantsYZ without the light RPG parts.
No narration (just quick briefings), not much of exploration… Only good (but somewhat streamlined) turn-based tactical combats.
I'm pretty sure this game exists because the studio wanted to keep the team busy during the pre-production of MYZ 2, but it's a decent little game on its own.
If you liked MYZ combats, this game is just more of it.
