Focus Home Interactive and Lightbulb Crew have announced the release date for Othercide. Othercide is a tactical-RPG horror game set in a dark and mysterious universe that will be coming to the PC on July 28th. The style looks a little too Eastern for my taste, but I'll check it out anyways just for having "RPG" and "horror" in the same sentence.

As with every "Tactical RPG" out there, to me what matters is that the "RPG" part doesn't just mean that you get to level characters through a few talent and equipment choices because that doesn't make the game a RPG, no matter how hard they try to forcespoon it into my souls. Hopefully in Othercide there is an actual story with richly written characters, and a reactive plot with a significant amount of choice and consequence behind it.
The video looks promising, so I'll keep it on my radar.
