Yep, like I said, it's like an assembly line. Not that there's anything wrong with having a lot of titles. Resident Evil has a lot as well, and almost all of them are quality. No idea if that's the case here though.

There are currently three Yakuza games on PC. So it's not any 18 or something.
Of those three games neither is better than another as each has certain pros and cons when compared.
Yakuza 0 - you get to play two leads, Kiryu and Majima, each a different type of cool which is plus. Certain minigames are impossible to max with k+m which is minus (cheat them on PC is always an option), but not a big one as you'll see some of those minigames in other two games even better. In other words, don't bother with 100%ing the game, complete the main story and sidequests then move on.
Yakuza Kiwami 1 - Kiryu only game, but Majima is stalking you and gets batshit crazy. K+M is much better. The cover however got censored due to I have no idea which country (USA?), luckily the game itself is not censored. But sidecontent is boring compared to 0 and 2, 'ecept the trading card game where you'll want to catch all the pokemon!
Yakuza Kiwami 2 - Mostly Kiryu story, but Majima gets his own separate playthrough which if you complete and not fastrun, Kiryu will get a nice bonus in the main game.
The escort bar from Y0 returns so if you played it for far too much in Y0 it'll feel pretty boring here. In a way real estate from Y0 is also back, but this time it's not basically a phonegame but you get recruits (depending on sidequests and sidecontent like arena!) and play 20ish tower defense scenarios. Do not buy DLC because you get overpowered recruits making that DLC a paid cheat.
I'm saying buy all 3. Don't bother with 100%ing the first two (do however play the cars minigame, it rocks!), try it with Kiwami 2.
Y7 has new characters so it's not like playing any of previous ones is required. Besides, if trailers are to be trusted, the lead in Y7 is as crazy or is even more crazy than Goro Majima. And Majima, to me, is one of the best videogame characters I've ever seen.

Checked also the steam page. 4 DLC not all just cosmetics and different editions.
Hero edition adds cut out jobs so I'll buy it, but I don't see me voting goty for this sort of bs, even if it happens the game is better than everything I've played in my entire life.

The newer titles got a new engine as well…I think kwami 2 as well as 7….
The games are a bit on the crazy side sometimes, but a lot of fun…if you think along the lines of GTA without cars and vehicles/mixed with virtual fighter and with a smaller area….with some interesting storylines and some really weird ones….
All in all a lot of fun.

I just picked up a copy of Yakuza 0. If anyone is interested, both Fanatical and GameBillet currently have it for around $4.50

Sadly I haven't played either of the remakes yet. I played the PS 2 versions though of part one and two. Played the rest of the series on newer consoles over the years.
Still remember how they censored a few games as well for the US.
