Bad luck, their forums have just gone, maintenance
They have a nice forum engine, BTW.
Their podcasts are often a bit weird, because they're improvising as the questions come on the channel. I'm not sure I would be impressed or tempted to buy the game if that was my first contact with it
More often and more often in other games, we see one representative of the community asking the questions to carefully selected members of the team (mix of dev, art and game director for ex), which makes for better dynamics and is more goal-driven.
It's fun though, and what they're doing is very good. I've finally given in and took their early access… even if I don't entirely agree with the principle, I wanted to support them.
I must say that so far, it's already in good shape. Haven't seen yet what is replacing the kingdom management in Kingmaker, though, I hope it's more coherent with the main mechanics of the characters. They had good ideas in Kingmaker, but I was struggling with the roles of some advisors vs their abilities, which were not compatible with the abilities in the campaign (for ex. Octavia as wizard had Int for spell impact, but as regent of the kingdom required Cha for community score).
Still far from finished, in any case.

I'm yet to finish alpha myself but I have played chapter 1 and 2 multiple times from pre-alpha. It is indeed in very good state

I will have some time off from work in December so really looking forward to finish chapter 3!
