I will be all over this if it's any good. I'm a big G2 fan, but actually never gotten round to finishing G1 and I find it hard to stomach its crude 3D graphics now.
I'm keeping my expectations modest for the remake. Gothic was one of the most immersive games I've ever played. They have a monumental task in trying to recreate that atmosphere.

No matter how much you enhance and upscale graphics you can't polish a turd. Better yet it's basically putting lipstick on a pig in the end. The remake is necessary.

texture mod + infinite distance range = looks more than okay
still remains one of the few games where its really scaring exploring forests, at night is a nightmare lol

Even with just the texture mod though, I think it still looks great for a 20 year old game. It aged a lot better than most games from that time.
